1996 cadillac deville I by passed heater coil but water is coming from somewhere else and is running on floor it's not heater coil and what ever it is its draining my radiator so car over heated

To by pass the heater coil, you must connect the two hoses going into the heater coil. Did you do this? or did you just plug one hose line? best to replace heater coil if it is leaking to get heat working in winter.

Defrost not working

It could be caused by a defective defrost thermostat or a bad connection in the wiring going to the defrost heater. What is your model number? Thanks Sea Breeze

Freezer coils are iced up so the unit does not cool

Garth, The defrost Thermo should be closed when installed otherwise when the timer goes into defrost mode (I am not familiar w/ your model, could be 8,12 hr) the heater coil will not heat up.When closed it will allow the heater to defrost the freezer allowing the air to circulate & cool the fridg section also. The thermostat kicks in to turn off the heater, when it feels there is no more ice to defrost. the actual temp of the thermo can vary.
In the field we trained techs to replace the thermo and timer as a rule if all other components checked & visually looked good. If the heater was discolored or bulged we would advise replacement of it also.Remember the timer is the power source, the heater the engine & the thermo the safety. good luck, sl

I have a Vornado TVH600. The heating coil does not heat up; the fan is working. The heater has only been used for a couple of hours--worked fine and then one day simply stopped heating.

Sounds like you got a lemon. Contact Vornado Customer Service - the TVH600 comes with a 5 year warranty that covers all costs associated with replacing or repairing the heater. They even pay for shipping costs as long as the unit is still under warranty. Just give the rep the serial number on the bottom of your product. The number is 1-800-234-0604. When you call, you'll actually get a real person, and the support team is very pleasant and helpful. Good luck with your heater!

Dryer not heating

Check to make sure you are getting full 220 Volt power to the dryer, if you are then:
Sounds like your problem may be with the heating coil. Remove the back of the machine and try to
locate the air duct going from the blower to the drum. Normally inside the air duct you will find
the heating coil and the thermostats/thermistor. Once you have located the heating coil, remove
the two wires from it and check the coil with an ohm meter across the two terminals of the coil.
You should read continuity across the terminals, if not you will need to replace the coil as it
is faulty. If the heating coil is ok, then: You can check the thermostat/thermistor by removing
the two wires and taping them together with electrical tape. If the coil heats up then replace
the thermostat/thermistor. DO NOT LEAVE THE WIRES TAPED TOGETHER AFTER THE TEST. This could cause
a fire, as you have removed the safety of overheat from the machine. I will include these two web
sites for parts and further help:
Both also have chat assistance 24/7.
Good Luck, Hope this helps

Heat setting blows cold air

you have a bad heater coil. This coil is located behind the evaporator coil in the unit. To access this coil you will need to remove the a/c from the casing. Right behind the coil you will see a metal box that has metal strands crisscrossing inside of the bos this is your heater coils. Take the model number and serail number to an appliance parts house for replacement part. Good luck on your repairs hope this helped
