I've somehow managed to delete my sound device on my windows vista pc. Where can i download a new one for free and whats the best one to get?

You didn't delete the sound device itself... You deleted the software telling your computer how to run the physical sound device on your motherboard. If you know what the name of the one you have is.. you can go out to the manufacturers website and download it's drivers. If your using a Major brand computer chances are the drivers exist at the computer manufactures website under their support section for the model of computer you have.

I need to down load my sound card driver..how can i down load it for free?

Yes you can download your sound card driver for free. But, you'll need to know the specific model of your sound card, or better yet check the model number of your motherboard. Usually, the sound card driver is provided in the website of your motherboard's manufacturer. Once you find the model number of your motherboard, search for it in the manufacturer's website (e.g. Intel, Emaxx, Gigabyte, ECS, Redfox, MSI, etc..) and you should be able to download the available drivers.

I have an error message which is related to software I know I have to uninstal and re-install software but I don't know what the message relates to can you tell me please? Error message is CTMBH.DLL -...

This error message is related to Creative Sound Drivers. If I am right, you've Creative Sound Card installed on your computer. I would recommend you to reinstall the sound card drivers. If you have problem doing this, simply update the driver. Download this utility (Click Here), this program is called Device Doctor which will help you find the updates for all your system's hardwares. Download and install it, open the program and click "Begin Scan", after the scan is completed, you'll see all the available downloadable (free) drivers for your computer. Locate the Creative sound driver and click it to download, you'll be taken to the download page, follow the onscreen instructions.
For your reference, here's a screenshot of the Device Doctor:

If you need further help, let me know.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Hello, where i can download sound device Free?

You need hardware to play sound, but most motherboards come with a built-in sound device. Check what device your motherboard has and just download the appropriate driver.

Pop up says no sound device

Check and download the sound card driver from the vendor site or if know the sound card details, search for the respective driver from the internet and install the same will solve your problem.

Note: Real player is only for playing music files, not for sound device purpose.

Revert back for more clarification or assistance, with sound card details, so that i will help you to download the drivers for the same.

Here is a link to the Windows Xp audio drivers to try for your motherboard/audio:

http://www.opendrivers.com/driver/258452/powerspec-v201-realtek-audio-sound-driver-5.10.0.5288-windows-xp-free-download.html

You need to click the link on this webpage near bottom to go to download. Let me know if this does the trick. It definitely sounds like an XP issue.

I cant hear a single thing on my computer because i accidently deleted the sound thing i don't know what it is called but i need a free sound fixer download do u know any?

There are plentry of sites with downloads for Sound Card and other drivers but you will pay a fee to install them. As your Audio Device is an onboard chip the computer manufacturer is the best source for its' particular drivers. Their web site will have drivers for download. otherwise go to microsoft Windows Update: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

usually windows 98 computers have this problem. if you go onto microsofts site and look for windows 98 media player updates then it should sort this problem. otherwise you coud do one of the following:

- purchase windows xp from pc world or somewhere simular or otherwise just download from the internet using a download program called a bit torrent tracker ( a program which lets you download software and things for free....which is on the slide if you know what i mean)

- check that the volume on media player is set to play out

any problems still let me know by email milliprowd21@yahoo.co.uk
