Late startup problem

respected sir/madam,

i m using lenovo 3000 y500 series laptop...while starting it it stops on its very first screen displaying 'LENOVO" at he center while displaying "press f2 to enter setup and f10 to enter boot selection menu" at its bottom.then it hangs on. when i press f2 it takes almost 5-10 minutes to show the menu .there at its very first tab it displays my hdd while "none" against dvd...further when i enter f10 then taking to much time it starts but in mycomputer it does not show my dvd drive. what should i do?
