there two screws on bottom case below the dvd drive, who atach the drive steady, take this out and pull the drive out carefully, normaly use a flat small screwdrive, change it check for new one has the same screw holes positions
If you can see the CD Drive icon in My computer, it shows that at least Windows recognises the drive. If you are unable to see the drive listed in explorer (not the cd name but the actual drive icon), then please post a reply.
Other than that, you are describing what I think may be a faulty drive. If you open the case, check to see if the drive cable is in good contact with the connector and motherboard.
relativaly easy fix you need to remove the battery, hard drive and the bios battery which is under the keyboard then plug in mains power without the battery in turn it on once it boots, turn it off plug everything back in an youre away no more bios password
