Here is a link to the TA280 manual, which is similar to the TA200, http://www.giantintl.com/RadioPDFs/Outdated%20Manuals/T280_User_Manual.pdf

Funny thing, I haven't found the TA200 manual in English. Here it is in Czech: http://www.cbradio.cz/doc/Motorola/PMR%20TA200/manual.pdf If you do a google search, you can find the page and have it translated. I'll keep looking, and if I find it in English, I'll repost.

Issues with Motorola TalkAbout T5900 (14 Channels) 2-Way Radio. Do they need FCC programing & licensing to operate? Because I can not get the to communicate with each other!

Yes they do.The thing about the talkabout is that they work according to the network area they are connected to and the number of the talkabout they are also connected to.So all you need do now is to take the talkabout to motorola shop so that they can confrigure it for you.

Are motorola talkabout t6210 and talkabout 200 compatable. I have the eavesdrop reducer turned off on the t6210 but the transmissions are garbled when recieved by the talkabout 200.

Yes, they should be compatible. You are correct in shutting off your eaves drop reducer. You might also check to see you have your interference eliminator code set to zero (off). We have been unable to find a good online source for a user guide for the T200, but if memory serves, they do not have "code". Here is a link to the very similar T280 guide: http://www.giantintl.com/ContentManage/manuals/Moto/T280_User_Manual.pdf

And here is a link to the T6210 user guide http://www.giantintl.com/ContentManage/manuals/Moto/T6200_User_Manual_E.pdf

Between the two radios there should be 14 frequencies in common. If you continue to have difficulties you might check to see if your batteries are good and/or fully charged. This also can interfere with good communications.

Best regards.

Does motorola Talkabout T5720 2 way radio have a identification number to locate possible owner of the handset?

These are mass produced radios which although serial numbered inside under batterys - it is very unlikely that you will trace an owner. cheap and cheerful radios dont usually attract the effort to register

What will i do to connect Motorola T5720 and T5728

Set both the frequency and the interference eliminator code to match one another. (The big number and the small number) Here is a link to the owners manual: http://www.motorola.com/mdirect/manuals/T56XX_57XX_User%20_Manual_E.pdf

Basic instructions:
Press the Menu Button
The freq number will flash
Use the + or - button to select the frequency.
Press the PTT button to save the channel setting.

To set the code:
Press the menu button until the code starts to flash (the small number)
Press the + or - to select the code.
Press the PTT to save the code setting.

Once you have both radios matching on frequency and code, they should communicate together.

Motorola talkabout sx700

Check your "code" setting. You may be on the same channel, but different codes. The code is the smaller number. Check your owners manual if you have one for resetting the radio to the factory default settings. This will clear any programming issues.

Motorola Talkabout

Hello trailrunner,

Back when Family Radios first came out a number of manufacturers came out with both standard 14 channel radios and scaled-down single channel radios designed as entry level offerings. My guess is the radio you have is probably a single channel unit based on what you describe. It probably operates on FRS channel 1 (462.5625 MHz).

If you post the model number and FCC ID number (which should be located on a sticker on the back of the radio) I might be able to give you some more information.

Best Regards,
Ken
