Question about Samsung HL-T5687S Television
I have 2 Samsung HL-T5687S televisions, having owned them for the past 8 months or so, and both have operated without issue, with the exception of the remote control for one of them, which doesn't seem to function properly e.g. when trying to turn the power on, the light under the TV button flashes continuously, but no action happens. As a result, I've been operating this TV more-or-less manually since I've purchased it.
I have set the picture settings for both TVs identically (Movie; Contrast=100; Brightness=43; Sharpness=0; Color=42; Tint=G53 R47; Color Tone=Warm 1) and I set the light effect to be always off.
Last evening, the remote wasn't working as usual, and I wanted to set the sleep timer, so, for reasons that escape me, I tried using the remote from the other TV, which worked. However, within an hour, and while watching a movie on a DVD player, the picture settings reset to factory (I believe), and the light under the power button came on and stayed on.
Now, whenever I turn the TV off and then on again, the picture settings revert to what | believe are the factory settings (Dynamic; Contrast=100; Brightness=45; Sharpness=75; Color=65; Tint=G50 R50; Color Tone=Cool 1) and the light effect to be always on.
Any idea on how I can remedy this i.e. not have the picture settings I make revert to factory every time the TV is turned off then on?
Would it be worthwhile to go back to basics and start again e.g. from Plug and Play initial screen to set up the TV, as when I first received it? If so, do you know how I can get to that screen? I've looked - can't seem to find it.
Finally, I have unplugged the TV a and let it sit for 10 minutes before turning it back on. The problem persists.

Your TV may have been put into shop
mode or demo mode.
How to get out of "Shop
1. Press [Source] to get to the Air or Cable input on the TV or TV remote
2. Press [Volume +] once on the TV itself (not the remote)
Next step must be completed while the volume bar is still on screen
3. Press and hold [Menu] on the TV itself (not the remote) for about 7 seconds
If the screen flashes "Dynamic Mode", the process worked
4. Finally check whether the Picture Mode is "Shop Mode" or not after passing "INFO" on Remote Control. If picture mode is still in “Shop Mode” try the alternative way below
Press [Source] on TV remote to get to the AIR or CABLE input
Press [Down Arrow] to highlight SETUP and press [Enter]
Press [Enter] again on PLUG AND PLAY
Wait 10 seconds
Press [Enter] to select ENGLISH (or choose an alternative language
Press [Right Arrow] to highlight HOME and press [Enter]
Press [Menu] repeatedly until you see the message ENJOY YOUR WATCHING
Confirm you are out of shop mode by pressing [Info] on the TV remote
