The bottom drawer has only a few bottles of water. Not tall enough to lodge drawer. The drawer will only pull out about a half inch. The bottom drawer has only a few bottles of water. Not tall enough to lodge drawer. The drawer will only pull out about a half inch.
I have the same problem. I have almost nothing in the drawer. I can open the drawer just far enough to see that nothing is blocking it from opening on the forward edge. The freezer has been empty and turned off in the sun all afternoon and the top compartment has thawed and dried out already, so ice may not be the problem?

I noticed the frost was building up, so I took all the contents of the 'freezer' drawer out. Since then I have not been able to open the drawer. Very annoying drawer. It has not kept food frozen in the drawer either.

You might be well served with a general defrost of the unit. But before you do, make sure that the mounting screws on the ice maker are fully in. Then if so, warm the lower surface of the ice maker where cubes are ejected with a hair dryer for a minute or two (medium not high). It could be that extraneous ice is catching the cubes. What does it feel like to the hand?
use your wife's electric handheld hair dryer as close to the rails as you can once slightly open you can use table salt/ice melt to free the drawer or; turn up your house thermostat to about 80 degrees for the day while you are at work; the drawer should be free by the time you get home.
remove all food from fridge and take it outside. leave it outside until ice is melted. this is the procedure and i have to do it every day im a Refrigeration Mechanic.
unfortunetly it sounds like your freezer has lost refrigerant. as the refrigerant level drops so does the capasity of the freezer. the unit is not worth repair. unless it is a comercial unit .In that case you will nead to phone a local repairman.
Check the drawer slides on each side for cracks or a screw that has come loose. The drawer should slide in a groove on each side firmly. Hope this helps. JT

Bottom drawer will not open. There are no contents in the drawer and have totally dethawed the freezer - still will not open.
