How do i restore back to factory setting,

My problem is that everything seem to be running ok, except internet explorer, i have a active broadband supply to the laptop cause i can use msn messenger, but as soon as i try to go onto internet explorer i get this page cannot be found. i have checked all the setting cant see anything wrong. can anyone help me please.

    Yes my internet is working, i have disable firewall and tried, still the same, any other ideas greatly received, thanks

Is it running ok in earlier time, if it is then go to system restore option ,restore your system to some previous date where its working fine

Check your internet working or not.
if working then then this is awindows or antivirus firewall ssue check and disable it.then try.

I found these instructions for resetting the router to the defualt settings:
Use the "Backup Settings" tool to save the Broadband Router's current configuration to a file named "config.bin" on your PC. You can then use the "Restore Settings" tool to restore the saved configuration of the Broadband Router that you set before. Alternately, you can use the "Restore to Factory Defaults" tool to force the Broadband Router to perform reset and restore the original factory settings.
􀁺 Restore Factory Default
To restore the factory default settings of the Broadband Router, click on the "Restore" button.
􀁺 Backup Settings
Press the "Backup Settings" button to save the current setting in a filed "config.bin" or given filename.
􀁺 Restore Settings
To restore the backup file to the Broadband Router, enter the path and filename on the restore settings.

IE8 will usually crash when using Yahoo and sometimes when just browsing. The only solution is to restart the computer, it seems. I'm wondering if I just need to use a different browser.


It's probably an addon in IE thats causing it to crash. Here is how to disable them:

Here's How:
  1. From the Internet Explorer menu, click Tools ' Internet Options.
  2. Click the Programs tab.
  3. Click Manage add-ons.
  4. Click the Add-on you wish to disable, then click the Disable radio button. Note that this option will only be available when an Add-on is selected.
  5. IE7 users also have the ability to detele the ActiveX control. Follow the steps outlined above to select the ActiveX control, then click the Delete button found under Delete ActiveX. Note that this option will only be available when an ActiveX control is selected.
  6. Not all Add-ons in the list are active. To see which Add-ons are actively loaded with Internet Explorer, toggle the Show dropdown to view Add-ons currently loaded in Internet Explorer.
  7. Click OK to exit the Manage Add-ons menu
  8. Click OK to exit the Internet Options menu
  9. If a necessary add-on has been mistakenly disabled, repeat steps 1-3 above, highlight the disabled add-on, then click the Enable radio button.
  10. Close Internet Explorer and restart it for changes to take effect


I would personally use Firefox or Chrome instead though...

Internet Explorer error message: we Care Reminder- Error Setting Reg String: Cause Cannot run Back-up and restore


every time I access an internet site via a link or Internet Explorer, I get a message:

Creating Helper Process Failed
if you get this message again, please contact IES Support @we-care.com (2)

When I click on ok the site opens but this occurs everytime I access the internet....how do I get rid of the message?

I got a virus on my desktop computer. The virus was removed everything is ok except my Window Internet Explorer.When you attemp to go online, Internet Explorer thinks it is offline however the offline...


More than likely the virus has edited settings in your registry, sinply removing the virus will not replace these settings. Try using a restore pointn prior to when you got the virus.

My internet explorer cannot display the webpage..what should i do


First off all check the Internet connection make sure that connected. After that click file then make sure the work offline is not selected. After that if not working then follow this.
please follow the steps.
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click Tools.
3. Click Internet Option.
4. Delete History, Temporary file.
5. apply & ok.
6. Click File & unmark Work Offline.
7. Close the Internet Explorer.
8. Open Internet Explorer.

If not done then you have to reset the factory setting because the Internet explorer may corrupt.
1 Ensure all Data is backed up, all data will be deleted.
2 Please also ensure that all USB storage devices are removed before starting the recovery process
3 Restart machine
4 When your unit switches back on, wait for the ACER screen then hold down alt & tap f10 repeatedly..
5 Please wait a moment until prompted, -How would you like to restore?-
6 Please select –Restore system to factory default-
7 Enter your defined password or enter six zeros ‘000000’
8 Click ok
9 Please wait until process completed, this will take 45min – 1hour
ALL personal information on the C: Drive I.E photos, programs, music and documents will be wiped when the above steps are taken.
Files located on the D: Drive will be safe from the procedure.

Computer started running very slow


opened the internet explorer..
click the the tolls at the top->click internet options..click security,privacy,contents,connection,programs and set all the thins to default level or else click on the adavanced tab and select reset all settings and restore my factory settings you can try it and it will working

click on start ->run->type msconfig and change the startup type to normal into selective startup and click ok and restart the computer now you can see the difference

No internet connection


I received this solution from Belkin. It worked for me & I hope it does for you. Good luck!

Belkin solution:

Please follow the details given below:
1. Please contact your internet service provider to know the connection type details (Is it PPPOA,PPPOE, Dynamic or static)
2. Belkin router F5D8633 ADSL router works only with ADSL broadband connection and does not support Cable broadband connection.
3. Do not use the Setup CD Assistant; reset the unit and configure it manually. Make sure to set the correct VPI/VCI values in the process as the default settings may not be correct.
4. When using PPPoA, always use VcMux encapsulation, when using PPPoE, always use LLC encapsulation. Keep the VPI and VCI as 0/38.
5. Please follow the instructions given below to configure the router manually:
- Connect the phone line direct to the router, or through the filter.
- Connect the computer to one of the LAN ports on the router.
- Switch off the router and power it back after 5 seconds.
- Restore the router to factory defaults by holding down the reset button on the back of the router.
- The power light will flash and then come back ON solid, indicating that the router is being restored to factory defaults.
- The corresponding lights on the router should be lit-up.
- Check if the computer has an IP address in the range of 192.168.2.x
- Click on `start` & click `Run`.
- Type in `cmd` & click `ok`.
- Type `ipconfig` and Enter. Check for IP address, subnet mask & Default Gateway.
- If not, specify a static IP address, gateway and DNS by following the steps at http://web.belkin.com/support/kb/kb.asp?a=2824
Then follow the below instructions to reset IE.
-Open Internet Explorer
-Click on Tools -> Internet Options
-In the General tab, click on Delete Files under Temporary Internet Files
-Click on Clear History
-In the Connections tab, select Never Dial A Connection and click on LAN settings
-Uncheck all the options and click on OK
-In the Advanced tab, click on Restore Defaults
-Click on Apply and then OK.
- Open a new Internet Explorer window and on the address bar please type in http://192.168.2.1 and click on go.
- You should be able to access the routers set up page.
- By default the password is blank.
- Click on Connection Type and Reconfigure the connection on the router (using your ISP details).
- Save the Changes.
Note: Please obtain the correct values regarding the Internet connection from your Internet Service Provider.
Internet Status should show Connected on the top right hand corner of the web page.
If the problem persists, please get back to us with the following information given below:
1. Type of connection provided by the ISP (Is it PPPOA,PPPOE, Dynamic or static)
2. The ADSL light status on the router. Please let us know if the ADSL light status on the router is solid or flashing.
3. ADSL broadband connection or Cable broadband connection.
4. Operating system on the computer and the version number for the internet explorer like IE 6 or IE 7.
5. Internet Status shows as Connected or Disconnected on the top right hand corner of the router web page.
Log on to the router web interface at http://192.168.2.1
- By default, the password is blank.
- Click on Security log under "Firewall" option (let us know the message you see under the security log or send us the screen short of the message you see under the security log)
6. Then, check the IP address of the computer. For checking the IP address:
- Click on start & click `Run`.
- Type in cmd & click `ok`.
- Type IPCONFIG and Enter. Check for IP address, subnet mask & Default gateway.
- The IP address should be in the range of 192.168.2.x (x=2 to 254)
- In the command prompt type PING 192.168.2.1 & Enter. Check if you are getting replies.
- Type, PING 4.2.2.2 & press Enter. Check if you are getting replies.
- Try pinging yahoo by typing PING yahoo.com and Enter. Check if you are getting replies.

Issue While printing from the Internet Explorer 7, the printer prints the HTML codes instead of the contents of the Web page. Solution Follow the steps below to resolve the issue. Step one: Restore the Default Settings for Internet Explorer
  1. Click Start and then click Internet Explorer .
  2. In Internet Explorer, click Tools .
  3. Click Internet Options .
  4. Click the Advanced tab.
  5. Click the Reset button. A new window opens.
  6. Click Reset .
  7. Click Close .
  8. Click OK .
Step two: Set Internet Explorer as the Default Browser NOTE: This step is optional. Follow the steps below to set Internet Explorer as the default browser:
  1. Click Start and then click Internet Explorer .
  2. In Internet Explorer, click Tools .
  3. Click Internet Options .
  4. Click the Programs tab.
  5. Click the Set Programs button. A new window opens.
  6. Click Set your default program .
  7. Click Internet Explorer .
  8. Select Set this program as default .
  9. Click OK .
  10. Close the window.
