I have the same problem, the heating is coming on at random times for 10 mins every 20mins and there is no reason for it. The main unit is off and just in case i have set the activation temp to 5degrees......it makes lots of noise when its on which means trips to the loft at 3am

    Honeywell CM67NG

Thermostat comes on at random times eg 3am, 6.30am, 5.15am despite being set for 7.30am. and then works perfectly at all other times

The cm67ng has a feature which attempts to get the temperature to the desired point before the actual time you set. In reality this "feature" just makes the device turn on and off randomly in a really bemusing fashion. You can turn this off with the following:

1, Set timer mode to "OFF"
2, Hold down "Info i" and press "prog 3" and "prog 4" together. Display Should show a spanner in the left hand corner.
3, press "prog 2"
4, repeated press "clock +" till the characters in the display after the colon read "OP" (the number before the colon seems to vary with model).
5, Press the "temp down" button. The 1 in the right hand of the display should become a 0.
6, Press the "info i" button to save your changes.
7, Switch the mode back to auto, the timer should now behave normally.

You should note that a number of other parameters can be changed in this service mode. Some of which could probably do bad things to your central heating system if set incorrectly.. So this is at your own risk! Either way it's best to read the installation manual before attempting to change anything:

I had the same problem. The issue is that if you set the temperature to be 20 degrees at 8.00, it will ensure that the temperature is at 20 degrees at this time. I.e. it will set the boiler going well before this time. I was frequently woken up by the heating being on in the middle of the night. My solution works perfectly for me as I do not have complex requirements. I simply set the timer to be at say 10 degrees at 11.00 pm and again at 8.00 am, and then at 20 degrees at 8.20. This means that between 11.00 om & 8.00am is will maintain 10 degrees, but come 8.01 will be working flat out to try to achieve 20 degrees by 8.20!!
It works for me.

If it comes on at 4am instead of 7am try advancing the on time by 3hrs to 10.00am - this seems to work - until someone comes up with a "proper solution."

Have you tried pressing the 'Reset' button (with the tip of a pencil)? After doing this, you will have to re-enter the various times. It could be that your rechargeable battery is nearing the end of its useful life, by the way.

One possibilty is the therm has a antisipator setting, meaning Ex; at 7:00 you want 72*f,but the house is 62*f at 6:15 the therm will bring on the heat early so the house will be at 72*f@7:00.There should be a short lag if it is comming on at 4:00 it is something else.

Hi, I have worked with Honeywell products for years, and I have seen this type on occation. If they are wireless and on a timer that controls them, it may have a problem in the timer. See if this timer is split to operate each stat seperately. If so, find where it controls the stat that will not shut off at the correct time, and see if you see anything out of order. The stat senses the temperature and would shut this unit off when satisfied. I did find that this stat works on the basis of time and temp, and is obsolete. They are being replaced by the Honeywell CMT-927. I do believe you need to check the timer 1st to see if it is working for this side of the stat. You will need to read the instructions that should be with the timer. If the timer seems to be working fine, I would replace the stat in question as it has probably failed and will not respond to temperature or time when it gets its signal to shut down from the timer. Please keep me updated on this and we can go deeper into this and solve it.
Sincerely,
Shastalaker7

You may have a broken thermostat wire. Disconnect the wires from the thermostat and please note what colors are hooked to which terminals. Cross the R and W wires and see if your heating system turns on. If it does not, you have a broken wire or bad connection at the heating system. If it does start, you have a bad thermostat or bad connection at the thermostat.

The two wires from the transformer are to run the clock in the old thermostat. If you connect the two other wires to any heating thermostat, it will work. Don't forget to disconnect the transformer wires. Hope this helps
