Installing norton from a downlaod

visit symantec.com go from there, go to the downloads section, look for your Norton product there and download the trialware. since you do have your product key with you, you can enter that key to the downloaded trialware so that it will become a fully working software.

you can find find your product key on your norton account if you have one. But, if you dont, you can look at the cd sleeve if you purchased it from a store. if you purchased it online, you can check it on your norton account.

if you brought it online you should have gotten a product key, and serial number. if you google "norton 360 redownload" it should take you a norton page or symantec page. enter "redownload norton 360" in search box and it should go right to it. now just enter product key and serial number and you should be good to go. ihave restored my computer a number of times and this is how i get my norton 360 back without paying again. hope i helped

STEP 1   Before you begin

  • We suggest that you print this page before you start. PRINT

  • This document is for Norton 2006 products. If you have a different product, please go to our main document and choose the product that you have. Then follow the steps in that document.

  • If you have more than one Norton product, be sure to get the product key, CD or installation file for each product that you want to reinstall before running the Norton Removal Tool.

STEP 2   Save your Product Key

kb_note.gif?openimageresource Note

If your Norton 2006 product came pre-installed on your computer, and you are using a limited subscription of 30, 60 or 90 days, you do not have a product key.

If you need to get your product CD or installation file, contact your vendor. Once you have your product CD or installation file, then return here and continue with STEP 3 below.

If the product is currently not installed on your computer, check the Product Key at the back of the CD sleeve, or in the confirmation email that you received from Symantec for your download purchase. Once you write down the Product Key, go to STEP 3.

1 Open your Norton product. 2 In the upper-right corner of the main product window, click Help & Support > Norton Account. 3  Choose one of the following depending on what your product Status is:

  • The Status of my product is "Not Saved"
You have not yet created a Norton Account. Follow these steps:
    1. Click your Norton product, then click Save Product Key.
    2. Complete the form to create a new Norton Account, then click Submit.
    3. Click Next, then skip to line 5 below.
  • The Status of my product is "Saved"
Click your Norton product, then click Retrieve Product Key. Then continue with line 4 below.
4 Type in your email address and password for your Norton Account, then click Log on. 5 In the My Products window, click your product, then write down your Product key. You need your product key to reinstall your product later. 6 Close the window, then click OK in the Norton Account window. 7 Close your Norton product, then continue with STEP 3 below.

Here Save the file to the Windows desktop.

2 On the Windows desktop, double-click the Norton Removal Tool icon. 3 Follow the on-screen instructions.  Your computer may be restarted more than once, and you may be asked to repeat some steps after the computer restarts.
