I want to hide my drives in my computer so that other person will not change or make any actions in my drives.. i tried to hide through i use the "gpedit" in the registry but still cant hide.. i tried also in "regedit" but still nothing change.. please help.. thanks!!
Perhaps you can use another way to hide the drive, for using a third party software which will save you a lot of trouble.
I use Advanced Folder Protector to hide my drives, this is a green and powerfull program and lock the folder and files and drives as well.
Here is their link: http://www.kakasoft.com/advanced-folder-lock/
Hope this answer will do any help.

You can't hide the drive, you can share or not share. However, you can hide and un-hide folder and files. go to the properties of the that folder or file, select hide.
if you login or any one else login as you, they will see the folder or file as a "masked" not hidden.
it will be hidden, when who ever login as themselves.
the other thing you can do is to set the security on the drive, folder or file via security setting. if you don't allow certain individual to access the drive, folder or file. this has to be done via local administrator login.
this is more secured. the individual require password to gain access to that area.

Tips for a great answer:

QoS Packet Scheduler is a method of network bandwidth management that can monitor the importance of data packets and depending upon the priority of the packet, give it higher or lower priority or bandwidth levels. It's not very useful unless you're using apps which are QoS-aware or running a server, so you can gain some network overhead back by turning it off.
Note: This following tip will not work on XP Home Edition.
Effect is immediate on some systems, some need to re-boot.

You can scan documents using the operation panel.
Do not disconnect or connect the USB cable while the machine is in use.
In Windows XP, the program selection dialog box may open when you press the Color Start or Black Start button on the machine for the first time. In that case, select MP Navigator EX, then select Always use this program for this action and click 'OK'. From the next time, MP Navigator EX will start automatically regardless of the selected scan mode.
Selecting a Response to Commands from the Operation Panel
1. Place the document face-down on the platen.
2. Press the Scan button on the machine.
The machine enters Scan Mode.
3. Press the Color Start or Black Start button on the machine.
MP Navigator EX starts on the connected computer. Scan documents on the platen or ADF (Auto Document Feeder) using MP Navigator EX.
Trust this is helpful.
