Go to the Acer site and you should be able to find a link to a section that will allow you to purchase a full set of disks to restore it to factory defaults. Be careful buying them off of ebay as most of those are just disks that contain drivers and not windows. The ones from acer should cost around $20. The web page is a little hard to find but it is there. See link below.

I want to restore my Acer Aspire M1100 desktop computer back to factory settings. I have the disks from Acer, one is a System Disk and one is a Recovery Disk. Is there any way to restore/reinstall Vista...

Hello,

If you used the restore disk on your computer it will erase all files, and all your programs. the restore Factory settings means "ALL" settings the time you created the CD for the restore.

If you have an individual Vista Installer CD with the Serial you can use it and use restore option.

Thank you for using Fixya
Hope this helps.

WILL not resetting to factory settings

You will need to burn a Recovery CD / DVD set from the icon located on the desktop/ In your Acer Home Start utility (The window loading at startup) or from the Start Menu.

Using this disk you will be able to do a System Restore back to original factory setup.

Acer extensa 4220 wireless problem

I'm not sure if you tried hitting the appropriate key on your keyboard to initialize your wireless network. Check your manual to see which key it is, it is not automatic. Also, make sure you have a wireless card. Click on start>all programs>accessories>system tools>system it will give you a list of all your hardware, Look for 802.11b/g that is the wirless.

Don't forget to rate this solution.

I need to know how to reformat my acer extensa 4220. I have no boot disk and I have a virus that is not allowing me to see my system information or MYcomputer and so forth

first create a boot disk.
Create MS-DOS bootable diskette
When formatting a floppy diskette, users have the option of creating a MS-DOS startup disk, follow the below steps to do this.
  1. Place diskette in the computer.
  2. Open My Computer, right-click the A: drive and click Format.
  3. In the Format window, check Create an MS-DOS startup disk.
  4. Click Start
You Will Have your own Boot Disk.
Backup Your Data.
Boot With the help of BootDisk.
Load a new XP.
Virus Scan All the Drives and Data.

Factory restore

Call the manufacture and see if they would be willing to send you a restore disk. Also not a cheap way but you could by new windows xp and re-install it. System restore could get you pretty far back but it doesn't allow you to re do the whole hard drive. What is the operating system?
