Question about Yahoo Messenger
Well my friend few things to check
first make sure that your internet connection is working properly.
second i want you to try to right click on the yahoo icon and run as administrator.
third you can check the connection from the messenger tab and go to preferences and set it to no proxies.
if none of the above work then two other steps
update internet explorer.
reinstall yahoo messenger
that should fix it for sure

Tips for a great answer:
the "Messenger" menu in Yahoo! Messenger and select "Connection
Enable the "No network detection" option and then click the
"OK" button at the bottom of the window.
Yahoo! Messenger will ask you if you want to sign in again with your new proxy
settings. Click the "OK" button.
your Yahoo! ID and password and click the "Sign In" button.
you may have a registry problem download reginout to fix the issue
