Question about HP Photosmart C6180 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

C6180 how do i select the photo tray instead of the paper tray so that I can just print on a 4x6 instead of a whole sheet. my image is in iphoto, not on a memory card or camera

Do you mean for me to take my 4x6 photo paper and load it in the tray where I normally load letter sized paper? I tried to do that, unsuccessfully. The printer does not seem to be able to load it. I thought it might because I can load envelopes. Maybe the photo paper is too stiff. I was wondering if I could somehow redirect the HP printer to print from the smaller photopaper tray. Perhaps this tray only works with memory cards from a camera. Anyway, I got around the problem by printing a 4x6 on a letter sized paper (wasting most of the letter sized photo paper). I would like to be able to just print one 4x6 at a time on 4x6 paper.

    Thanks for trying to help.

there is a photo tray dedicated just for your 4x6 photos. raise the output tray until it does not go further then pull out the phototray. insert your photo paper then slide the guide inward.

Hp c6180 won't print from 4x6 photo paper tray

If you put regular paper in the tray as it is asking does the printer use the regular paper to print the picture? If so, be sure the 4x6 photo paper tray (with photo paper) is pushed all the way in, and when you select print there should be an option (probably hidden in a submenu) to select the photo tray as the paper source. If you are printing from Adobe Acrobat, I have not found a reliable way to get the c6180 to use the photo paper tray. I hope this helps.

Hi there!
The compatibility of the paper may affect the issue that you are having. I have a brother printer also and prints on 4x6 size what i can suggest is to try turn the photo paper upside down, so facing the tray, 2 sheets at the bottom should have the glossy side up. and the sheet where you need to print the photo should be facing down. So when the paper roller grabbed the photo paper at the top it will smoothly pass thru,
Hope this helps! Vikroks

How to load 4X6 photo paper

hi

  • Turn on the Epson 875DC and the attached computer. Make sure the cable between the two devices is securely in place.
  • Step 2 Remove any paper that is in the printer's feeder tray. Place the 4x6 photo paper printable side up in the tray, with the support sheet at the bottom of the stack of photo paper. Adjust the paper guides so they are pressed against the margins of the paper.
  • Step 3 Open the photos to be printed in your computer software program of choice. When you are ready to print the photos, click on the "File" link at the top of the window, then choose "Print." Click on "Properties" and select "4x6" for the paper size and "Photo Paper" under the paper type. Click "OK" to close the "Properties" window, then click "OK" again to print the photos.

You have to push in the photo tray~. Push until you hear it click...then it will print from the print tray and in turn, you will be able to print photos unto your glossy photo paper instead of the letter size paper.
