Question about Apple Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger for Mac

1 Answer

Update failed - restart failed

I just moved my Mac and rehooked it to the internet, I had a massive amount of updates and clicked accept and they started to download - a window came up and said that there was an error and some of the updates could not download -- the only option was to click ok - which I did.
Another window was behind that one that said restart the computer for updates to take effect - now or later and I clicked restart the computer -- I have restarted it many times now and can't get my desktop to come up.
Any suggestions?

Unfortunately I bought my Mac used and do not have an OS disk - so this doesn't work.

    Any other ideas?

Thanks - I bought my computer awhile ago through e-bay. I don't know the person that I purchased it from. So basically I now have no computer because I tried to do the right thing and download updates -- that makes one want to follow suit.

    I appreciate you trying though.

Put your OS disk in and start up from that. There are on screen instructions to help you on.

Hi, all Apple Macs come with the OS disk so things like this are only an inconvenience. The person you bought it from will have the disks then. There is no other way other then OS disks or OS on a Firewire drive. Sorry.

Just buy a Mac OS on ebay!
