Question about Bose Lifestyle 28 System

2 Answers

DVD I have an 15 year old RCA monitor and have it connected it to the Bose Lifestyle 28. Although I have had the system for a year, I have never played a DVD on it. CD's work fine. I have to switch a plug on the monitor to get the DVD to work and then I get a very strange picture. The images are shadowy and there are bands of static. Colors are quite distorted. I have tried two DVD's with the same results. Could you recommend a solution?

First ensure that you are connecting DVD and sound system in the right way.

Check that there is no source of interference, like the subwoofer, or a power adapter too near to the video and audio cables.

Try switching the input channel on TV and see ifg you find DVD signal also on a different input channel, in that case connections may be also wrong.

DVD drawer will not open - stuck dvd inside

My only suggestion is to press and hold the eject button for a period of time (15 - 30 seconds). This might unlock the drawer. If not, I would contact Bose Customer Service directly.

I had the same problem with a Lifestyle 35 system. Use a DVD lens-cleaning disk, followed by the latest firmware disk from Bose. This should clear up the problem.

You probably have the RCA jacks plugged into the wrong jack located on the back of the television. They can be confusing at times.

Can I connect my pc to a lifestyle 28 system

If you want to connect your PC's audio output to the Bose Lifestyle system, simply get a cable with 3.5mm stereo male plug on one end, and dual RCA male plugs on the other end. The 3.5mm side will plug in to your PC's LINE OUT jack. The two RCA male connectors will plug in to the Bose AUX IN jacks. On the Bose console (or the remote control) select AUX as the audio source. Your PC's sound will play through the Bose Lifestyle system.

For persons having a large library of MP3 music files on their PC, this is a great way to listen to the music on your hard disk.

No sound Bose Lifestyle 38 III

I am quite sure that the indicator lights should be green. The blinking yellow likely indicates that there is no communication between the head and the audiomass. Verify that the connections are tight and then try powering off (unplugging) the system (both head and audiomass) for 30 seconds and then powering on again. That will often re-establish communications.

Bose lifestyle 28 will not come on?

The Bose Lifestyle System has two power connection. One is the adaptor for the media center/DVD and the other one is the bass module/ subwoofer. Both has physical indicators showing that power is present. If your pwoer adaptor is ok, then the media center display should show "BOSE LIFESTYLE SYSTEMS" on startup. The bass module power module should be OK when you see a green blinking or steady linght underneath.

If only the media center/DVD has no display then there is something wrong with your pwer adaptor and should be sent for repair.

Hope I have helped you

Try the settings setup and adjust the brightness, video format, or video black level. If you're using component connections then adjust the video output. You can scroll system setup through the remote control settings button.
