Hi. My QuickCam Fusion has worked wonderfully until this past week when I used Skype to communicate with my son using the quickcam. The light was on, indicating it was working, but my son could only see a still picture of me. In other words, there was no active video being transmitted. Do you have any suggestions? The webcam to accidentally fall off the monitor to the floor about a month ago, but it landed in a pile of cords which broke its fall so I didn't think it was damaged. I hope you can help. I'm not good at all with troubleshooting. I checked the Installation Manual that came with the webcam and it didn't have any troubleshooting section. I hope to hear from you soon. Thanks.

Re: Logitech QuickCam Fusion
First check the camera and see if the button on the camera is stuck in the on position from the fall. If no, do this,
Go to "TOOLS", click on "OPTIONS," Then go to
"Audio Settings" and click on it. Make sure both the Microphone and
Speaker's are correctly chosen.Then
"make a free test call." Wait till the voice tells you to
record. Then when finished talking wait for the test persons voice to
insure your audio transmission is working. Then go back to options and
test your video settings. Click on Video Settings and proceed to set up
you video camera. Also, you can visit this site for additional
information to setup video.
Hope this helps. Bud

The easiest thing to try is just disabling "Communication_Helper.exe" in
Skype. Go to Skype / Tools / Options / Advanced, and at the bottom you
will see text that says "manage other programs' access to Skype". Click that and you'll get
a window, which should list "Communication_Helper.exe". Deny access to
that (don't remove it, because it will just come back), and try your
Be aware, however, that this is only a quick fix and does not solve the problem.
When Logitech and Skype have problems like this, they can be pretty
big ones, and can cause performance problems as well as interface
The Logitech QuickCam application software is not
required for the Logitech Camera to function properly in Skype. If you
are not using the QuickCam application for anything else, then you
should seriously consider uninstalling it.
That will solve this
problem, and various other potential problems and performance issues,
To uninstall it just go to Control Panel / Add or Remove
Software (or Uninstall a Program in Vista/7), find "Logitech QuickCam"
(NOT Logitech Camera drivers), and uninstall.
Then reboot to get rid of
the background processes, and test Skype again.
You need the driver disc and software, if you dont have them, download them from logitech. Install the software and drivers, plug the cam in, and away you go. most programs like skype and messenger should picj the cam up once the drivers are in.
Yes, I have a Logitech WEBcam (not the same model) and I use Skype.
After you installed Skype then :- To test if the Logitech QuickCam is functioning, check the USB cable; make sure it is connected properly. Then click on Start - All Program - Logitech - Logitech QuickCam and see if you can get the camera to capture your image/video. If this works then the fault is with the Skype configuration. Sometimes the WEBcam settings drop off and the WEBcam need to be selected again. Open Skype - Tools - Options - Video Settings and select the Logitech QuickCam Also check the Audio Settings for the Microphone THEN click on Save. Avoid connecting the WEBcam to an USB hub.

I had a similar problem, the solution was as simple as not playing your voice through the speakers. The problem sounds like one of feedback. There are companies that sell phones that hook up to your usb port and will not cause this type of problem. Another solution may be lowering the volume on your mic.
