I replaced my Compaq IJ300 printer cartridge and nothing is printing. I thought I cleaned the printer nozzles with cartridge cleaning solution and Windex and I'm still getting a clean sheet of paper. What is wrong?

  • patfish600 Dec 15, 2008

Same problem, printer used weekly basis. Replaced all six cartriges, all colours work, black does not. I have tried cleaning the pin that comes up into the cartridge with Windex as recommended - even made a tool for this - part of a drinking straw carefully packed with cotton batting and soaked with windex - that fits over the pin, left it to soak for several hours, not much help. Any other suggestions? I don't want the thing to become more high-tech landfill just yet...

Hi

Try to run head cleaning cycles from printer utility. then print a nozzle check pattern. If all fails then you have to bring it to a servicer to unclog nozzles.

Hope this helps

I have an all-in-one Kodak ESP 3250 printer. Bought it 4 months ago. I'm interested in printing only in black, but now the color cartridge has emptied and it won't let me print with the black cartridge...

The KODAK All-in-One Printer uses an advanced built-in printhead. The system is designed to provide excellent image and text quality, while eliminating the need to purchase new printheads every time you replace ink cartridges, and saving you money. The printing system requires that both the black and color ink cartridges be installed to print. If either cartridge is not installed or is out of ink, the printer or printhead will not print correctly.

Install the color a new cartridge, avoid damage to the print head.

I bought a new 23 tri-color cartridge for my old hp 840C deskjet printer. the ink light keeps blinking. when I put in the old cartridge which is nearly empty, the light stops blinking and it prints a page

Are you using original cartridges by HP? If you are using the 'copy' manufacturers, they don't always work.

If HP, check you've removed all packaging, especially around the nozzel and circuit contacts. Look for sticky tape to be removed.

I only use blac ink cartridge in my printer esp 3200 all in one. why does the printer have to have full color cartridge for the printer to print black print. both cartridges in are in printer.

The reason is fairly simple. A tiny amount of ink has to emit from the color cartridge to keep the printer heads for the color from drying out completely. Let's say you bought a new printer and never used the color cartridge for 6 months but it was warrantied for 1 year. After 6 months you sell it to someone else and they can't print color. The manufacturer can be held responsible and has to pay to have the heads replaced. They just lost any profit they made on the printer to begin with.

That's why.

New Cartridges - not all color ink printing!

It sounds that the ink inside the cartridge has partly dried up.

This can happen to my printer when I don't use it for a couple of months too.

Hope this helps!

MY CANON PIXMA HAS STOPPED PRINTING COLORS I HAVD DONT THE MAINTENANCE STEPS AND PURCHASED NEW CARTRIDGES STILL NO COLORS PLEASE HELP BOB

The next step in repairing your unit after replacing the cartridges, is to replace the print head.

If you are refilling your catridges, there are many inks out there that actually eat up the nozzels in the print head.

If you need to refill, be aware that you may not end up saving money.

I use a Bulk ink system that uses ink that does no damage to the print head.

Good luck!!!

Dell printer model# A940 50c error

Test your cartridges.

Remove the color ink cartridge then lower the cover of your printer. If the error message displays again, replace the black cartridge with a new one (or return the new one). Reinstall the color cartridge and remove the black ink cartridge then lower the cover. If the error message displays again, replace the color cartridge with a new color cartridge.
Note: My manual indicated that the printer might have detected a short circuit in a cartridge. I returned a month old black cartridge got a new one and my printer is working fine now. Good luck.

I think its not printer or ink problem. Your monitor might be brighter so pics will look more bright on monitor and less on printer. If this is the case with you then:
  • Try to reduce brightness of your monitor, then make bright your picture using software which one you are using, means in this case you are going to save more bright value in the image file. Then print it.

Post your feed back please.

RX500 EPSOM STYLUS PHOTO PRINTER Won't Print

I used some less expensive generic ink cartridges on my RX500 and had a similar experience with the black. If you're already using the Epson brand, done the head cleaning, realignment and nozzel checks, I'm not much help. Try Epson's support at their web site.
