Install the Audio drivers compactible with windows Vista home basic by going to the manufacturers website.
Go to device manager and check if the driver is installed if they are then uninstall them and then reinstall them by downloading the latest drvier from the computer manufacturers website
If your sure your device is connected and the speakers are connected and powered on go to the manufacturer website for your sound card and download the updated Vista Drivers for your card so it will be recognized.
Hello.... 1 - r u facing NO Audio/Sound issue...? 2 - is ur Volume Control not responding ? 3 - is ur Sound and Audio Device in Control Panel Grayed out ? 4 - Do u get a msg "No Active Mixer Devices Installed....when u try to open Volume Ctrl etc etc ?
if ur ans to any one of them is Yes...then u are being spammed by Microsoft....ur Sound Control IRQ is being frozen by a recent update from Microsoft....and no file update or any sound driver update can fix it, neither Microsoft is issuing any patch to fix it…. Full solution is available in my website (Support page)...it's quite simple process to fix it, and I am not charging any money, just trying to do some service. www+sureshayyar+110mb+com Copy the above address in the browser, replace + with dots....all the best....
it is missing the driver for the sound device hardware, you will need to first find out what brand name of device it is, than go to that manu. web site and download the driver manually. its really not that difficult to do or you can try a driver scanner, i reccommend driver detective, from uniblue software, don't give up.
go to start - control panel - system and maintenance - system - device manager, locate your sound card and uninstall your sound drivers, rebbot the computer and vista should reinstall them for you and they should work again
windows key + R = open : devmgmt.msc Sounds, video and game controlers > (right click) Realtek high definition audio > update driver sofware > browse my computer for driver software > let me pick from a list...> double click on Realtek high definition audio > YES to update driver warning > AND SWEET SOUND IS AUDIBLE :D
see if there are any drivers in XP for this model to start- if there are not- you are NOT able to convert it back to XP at ALL. Check with acer's tech support to see if it is possible to get drivers or if it is possible to convert it back to xp. Good luck- I'm seeing this problem a lot at the moment and the manufacturers do not care about people that hate vista.
