Question about Toshiba MW24FM1 24 in. TV/VCR/DVD Combo

Universal remote codes

I purchased this TV used, and as such, didn't get a remote. I've now bought two separate universal remotes, one that has four functions and one that has seven. However, I can't get either of them to work with the TV. Both say that they're compatible with Toshiba TVs, VCRs, and DVDs, but apparently not with the combos--or something. Does anyone know what the code for each part of the system is, or where I could find it? Thanks.

I recently bought a used Toshiba of this model. It works very well but came without the remote. None of the 3 universal remotes that I bought worked. It was extremely tedious to try to find the correct code and in the end, none of them worked. I see replacement remotes selling for what I paid for the TV. I would hate to buy one and find out that my money will be wasted. Anyone know where I can get a cheap one?

NOT A SOLUTION, however my remote stopped working a couple months ago. I subsequently tried several universal remotes - none of these worked. An educated guess might be that the problem is NOT with the remote control unit, but rather something inside the set itself. This might also explain why the MW24FM1 you bought "didn't come with a remote".

I bought a GEMINI III Quik 40 universal remote U.S.PatentNo.D357,017 i need codes to program an Olin Ross sound system Model:OR860 and a RCA 5 disc changer model#RP8065 HOW DO I PROGRAM REMOTE

If you purchased the remote new, it should have come with a code list. Because it is universal, you can use code search to find something that can handle basic functions of both devices although the search would have to be conducted separately for each. If a search through all codes contained in the remote fails, you may have to try a different universal remote. All universal remotes do not contain all possible codes.

Toshiba Color Television 36A43 Lost the original remote and purchased a universal remote. Tried to program using all four systems to no avail. I require the universal remote code to program for this TV

Place one remote on table, place other (new) remote facing old remote, then push the program button on new remote, remotes IR screens has to face each other to make this work. and if you've tried to program the new one before, you will have to clear the new ones memory first. Good luck.

Ah, the old universal remote isn't so universal anymore is it? Most "universal" remote controls were designed for the old tube type television sets. There are some seriously nice universal remotes for new flat screen TV's, but most of them are pretty pricey. The only reasonable flat screen universal remote that I've found (that actually works) is the Vizio HDTV Universal Remote. It's about $25, and believe it or not ... Wal-Mart carries it in the store.
