Hp Pavilion connection problems

HI. I have a hp Pavilion laptop that is connected to the clouds via router on a home network. Everything works fine , web browsing, skype and aim. Then after I,m online for awhile pages stop loading . I check my network connection in Vista and I also check it via Network Magic and both say there is no problems with network or internet connection. The only way to get the internet to start working again is to restart the laptop. This wouldn't be such a big deal if it happened only once every session but I have to reboot a few times depending on how long I am on the laptop. I have MS updates turned on and have down virus and spy ware scans both negative. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Tanks in advance

Did you download the beta version of internet explorer? If you did, de-install it. This is a known issue.

Cannot connect to wireless internet

It sounds like a problem I had. While traveling, my laptop connected with a WIFI network with the same name as my home network. It was my son's. He gave me his password and I entered it on both my machine and my wife's. When I got home I had the same problem. I tried everything including re-installing the WIreless drivers a few times. I could cable connect but every time I tried wireless, it told me to enter a password then came back with "SORRY CHARLIE"
Called my son and he said probably the wireless password was written to my registry and my laptop was telling me to give the password. As my router was expecting a different password it wouldn't connect. The cable connection did not check the registry since it uses a different driver set.
The registry entry for the router password must be deleted. The only way I knew how was to re-install my operating system. This is throwing the baby with the bathwater. I am sure someone out there knows how to find and erase a Register entry.

Wireless unable to connect

Windows 7 is not best suited yet for wireless connectivity, but broadcom wireless cards/dongles are about the only ones that work favourably with this Microsoft offering. Anything to do with non working hardware IS A DRIVER ISSUE AND IF IT IS NOT IN THE UPDATE SITE YOU WILL HAVE TO DOWNLOAD DRIVERS FROM THE VENDOR OF YOUR PARTICULAR HARDWARE. MOST HARDWARE THAT WORKS IN VISTA WILL WORK IN WINDOWS 7.

HP Pavilion dv9700 laptop, Wireless stops working at random.

It is because your wi fi network adapter not getting ip addresses from router.
For that connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then access it with following link.
http://192.168.1.1
or
http://192.168.0.1

type user name as "admin" and password as "admin" or blank or "password"

then go to advaced and enable DHCP .
Then save and restart router.

Then go to your laptop go to my etwork places proeprty then right click on your wi fi adapter then proeprty then tcp ip and set ip get automatic.
Then it works fine.
Let me know if you need more assistanse.
Thanks.

I need to establish home network using my laptop as host

Are all the computers on you LAN running Vista? If so, (or even if not) which version?

Computer networks work best when the computers on those networks have a Network Operating System (NOS) installed, rather than a desktop operating system (OS). The best way to tell the difference is with the word PRO on the former or HOME on the latter.

Vista on home networks brings its own basket of troubles as well, particularly when connecting to non Vista computers.

Having laid all that out there for you, let's talk networks. You don't give many details, so, I'll make some assuptions based on new equipment (routers).

The best way to install a router, is to have the primary home computer connected via an ethernet cable. This allows the programming of the router to enable "cloning" of the MAC address. The reason to do this is so that the ISP (DSL or Cable company) will always appear that there is only one pc connected. This enhances your security.

Once that is done, the security feature can be adjusted on the router to either enable it, or not, and if you do (recommended) then write down your passphrase so that you can always remember it.

At this point, we are talking wireless, and if you are using wires, everything should already be functioning. With the wireless however, you will need to sit with your pc and tell the operating system to connect, then type in the security phrase when asked.

In XP, this is quite simple, by clicking on the wireless icon in the systray (down by the clock).

In Vista, however, you must first turn on network discovery. Right click on Networks, and choose properties. In the windows that opens, watch the information bar at the top, which should actually tell you network discover is not on, and to turn it on, click here.

Once the discovery is turned on, assuming that everything on your pc is functioning properly, you should see the network in the window, and be offered a chance to click on it to connect. Then type in your security phrase to connect to the LAN.

There is a lot going on with networks, and it is very difficult to help you set one up without a back and forth dialogue. I hope I helped you some.

good luck.
tony

Did you run the setup wireless network wizard on both computers? If not try this first & see if it fixes the problem. You will find this wizard in the control panel of your windows o/s. Hope this helps.

NIC hardware failure

Maybe your problem is software related. Maybe a virus changed some settings. I would check all the internet settings and the network card settings. I've seen this happen before. In windows xp click Start/Control Panel/Network Connections. Then right click on your local area connection and Click Properties. Slide the bar down to the TCPIP protocol and highlight it, then click Properties. Make sure you are obtaining the IP Address and DSN Server address automatically. Click the Advanced button and make sure DHCP is enabled.

Cannot maintain wireless connection

Try manually add the network. If the problems continue, I would turn the laptop in for repair/replacement (if it under warranty).
