Re: original problem

You could have a power supply problem or a sweep supply problem. If you have had any TV repair experience, you will need to get a schematic and go from there. if you have not and still want to learn, Please read the article im posting for you. A tv set is not a place to be poking around in if your not sure where to poke. Good Luck Please do not forget to rate this thread.

What could be wrong with my Hi sense TV,it gives me a hissing sound, and does not light the standby light.

You listed this as a CRT model and a hissing noise from inside the unit means the high voltage transformer is leaking voltage. Turn it on in a dark room and look for sparks

My tv wont turn on the green button flashes to red

Power supply aka high-voltage transformer is likely bad. It can be tested with a voltmeter. Make sure the voltmeter reads the same DC Voltage output as the label on back of tv does.

Tv wont turn on

Had the same issue. The biggest task was figuring out how to take the TV apart. Two screws at the top, three each on the tires which I gently pried off with a flat screwdriver using the center of the wheel to pry from, two screws that were hidden under the tires and the two screws at the video plugs at the back. Next remove the circuit board by removing the 4 screws. BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL AS HIGH VOLTAGE IS STILL PRESENT WITHOUT BEING PLUGGED IN!. If you do this carefully you wont have to unplug all the plugs. If you do have to remove them mark each one with a colored marker marking the board and the plug. This helps when you have to plug everything back in. Now looking under the back of the board the tall black high Voltage transformer that has the red wire going to the TV tube has really poor solder connections. I found three cracked. I re-soldered all ten of the pins. Plugged everything back in and now it works.

High pitch noise from the flyback

You can tell to some extent what it may be by listening carefully and trying to identify the location. If you, remove the back cover of the set; stay away from danger, just listen to where it seems like the sound is coming from. If it is coming from inside the high voltage cage it is the flyback. If coming from around the main power transformer it is one of the power supply parts.

Tv wont turn on

How old is this set?
I guessing it is maybe 8 years? In that case I would plan on overhauling the high-voltage circuit because it is going to need it soon whether it is the problem now or not (and it very likely is). Should cost under $200 at a shop. I generally don't waste time on older dead TV's but this is a good model and worth the effort. The risk is that sometimes when the high-voltage fails, it blows up other circuits in the TV and can be a real nightmare.

40" cs-40503 Popping noise

Sounds like there is a lot of dust on the crt, itself. This will cause a high voltage "snap" which I think you are hearing. This sometimes happens when there has been a spill of water or other liquid that has run or dripped down on the crt. Usually is not a problem if you turn the power off, unplug the cord from the wall outlet, take off the cover, let it set for a while( just to make sure the Hi voltage has drained off), disconnect and ground the hi voltage lead to assure drain down, then clean the dust off of the crt. Follow the dust off with a damp rag and wipe off all of the remaining dust that you can. Let things dry for a half hour or so. Reassemble and see how it works. I have had several $10 tv's that this process has worked well on. Each one lasted several years at least.
