Question about Clarion DRX-9675Z CD Player

Open Question

Unit scrolls "Goodbye!" and shuts off and on spontaneously

This unit was working fine, then one day it scrolled across "Goodbye" and shut off for a while, blank display. It appeared not to be getting any power, then it turned back on again. Now when it happens it says "goodbye" and then turns right back on again. I thought maybe it was a loose connection, but why would the unit be scrolling "Goodbye" if it was a loose wire? I have cleaned the contacts and taken some canned air to the front of the unit. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have a XMD3 with Sirius on a Larson boat. Had same problem - everything seemed to be fine on unit (everything lit up and CD showed different tracks and time changing), but no sound. I suspected a ground problem and checked wires I could see. Found one speaker wire that had been frayed due to faulty installation. As soon as I wiggled that wire I got sound on all speakers. Not sure why one faulty speaker would kill all sound, but it did for me.

When was the last time you updated your iPod's software? Also watch out how you break your playlist down, because Alpines will hang up at around 230 or so... I also have seen bad cords but that isn't you. Have you tried resetting the deck?? To do that take the face plate off and you will see a little hole that is red like a freckle. Get a pen and try resetting it and see what happens, that should do it. sometimes though iPods are the problems. Get a buddy's and try theirs and see if theirs hangs up?? No Sirius or Sat option when pressing Source button

Once everything is connected including antennae, there must be period of time for the head unit to recognize the SAT tuner (SC-C1 in this case). When I started up the car the next day the head unit automatically tuned itself to the Sirius preview channel.

Tuner error

Use a multimeter to check for connectivity to the sirius. Where did you mount the antenna? Maybe its a reception problem? Sounds like the head unit is going bad. Try shutting it down, and take the pace plate off, let it reboot and see if it works. Check to see if the Tuner is unplugged.

There are 2 power buttons on this player. One on the actual device and one on remote. If you have one on, the other will not shut it off.

No sound.

Disconnect speakers one by one and reset the unit each time. If the speaker is blown, or the wires are frayed, it will shut down the internal amp. Also check the fuse in the back of the radio first, it should be near the wire harness. Power cycle the unit as well, unplug it from the power source, plug it back in. Hope this helps.
