The fact that you've just brought it second hand and that all the other solutions have not worked strongly suggests that your equipment has got a fault somewhere. Try contact your dealer.

It seems that there is a major problem here. Other than just disconnecting the power and reseting it, I couldn't find many other solutions. My best suggestion is to actually contact the manufacturer and see what they have to say or see if you can get a manual that would help you better.

Connect cameras to the video inputs marked VID1 to VID9 (9-way unit) or VID16
(16-way unit). Use the bottom row of connectors for looping through to other equipment

If the Digital Sprite 2 needs to be switched off for any reason, the shutdown
    procedure needs to be followed:
    1. Select ‘Enabled’ in the System Shutdown option.
    2. When the pop-up menu appears, press and hold camera 1 for five seconds to
    shutdown.
    3. The message ‘It is now safe to switch off your unit’ is displayed, switch the
Digital Sprite 2 off at the wall.
Warning: Data loss or disk failure may occur if a system shutdown is not
    performed before removing power

You will need to plug a different camera in the one that is showing the video and confirm that the other cameras work , if they do work then the unit needs to be checked for the settings for viewing
if thats not the problem then the unit will need some testing to find out why it is not showing other camers
can you do some tests ?

then there is an internal problem that will need some testing to determine the fault in the unit

can you perform these tests with a meter? do you still have a warranty?

if you cannot do this kind of testing then use your warranty if you still have one or you will need to take it to an electronic repair shop to get the problem fixed

  • jason Nov 09, 2008

    will you need further assistance?

  • jason Nov 09, 2008

this is an internal fault and it will need to be tested to determine the cause

you can take it to your local electronic repair shop and have them fix it for you

it needs some testing to be able to find the problem

Here is the link to the manual  provided by "Ginko"

http://www.comlock.com/pics/DM-Digital%20Sprite%202%20DVR.pdf

And this has been written  about camera viewing
Camera Viewing
An option is available to view all cameras or selected cameras. All the cameras are
viewed by default. Cameras removed from viewing do not affect the cameras
being recorded.
To change the cameras to be viewed
• Press the ‘ ^ ’ cursor key to change the edit field to ‘Selected cameras’.
• A menu will display the cameras to be viewed.
• Press the camera key to toggle the camera in or out of the viewed sequence.
This camera will be displayed. A filled box denotes cameras that can be viewed.
Note: Cameras removed from view are not displayed on the main or spot monitor
in live or playback mode, multiscreen displays will show a blank segment.

hope this helps.
If it does not PLease post back

Youy need to install the drivers far all 4 cameras. Only one camera will be the default one, you need to start the other camersa manually.

I was given a Dedicated Micros sprite 2 without a power lead do i need one or can i connect to the computer as a power supply

would need more info as the system needs it's own psu.... are you meaning the power plug 3 pin type that fits into the psu or the 8 pin that fits to the system (would not try that with the 8pin)
3 pin is just standard kettle lead.

How to check the IP on Digital Sprite 2?

I have no idea what Digital Sprite 2 is , but one universal way to check an IP of a device is to put it after DHCP server and check that server's IP allocation table.

Most home routers have those DHCP servers built-in and functional, so maybe the real question here is "how to check the IP lease allocation table of my wireless router" :-)

You can't. You have to send it back to dedicated micros, unless of course you can use hyperterminal.

Our DS2 DVR gives the same display on camera 1 and 2 and sometimes it keeps on switching from 1 camera to another. Upon restarting the machine it will become ok but after a day or two, the same problem...

I've seen this before and it was caused by a faulty video card. It was sent to Dedicated Micros for repair and worked fine after it was returned. Sorry there is no permanent solution without major repair that I know of.

Sounds like a low signal voltage from the camera, should be 1v peak to peak, read with peak meter.
