Green CRT (tube) has following part number and description...

8-733-652-15 CRT 07MVC21(G)-L(FL)

Green Tube for KP-57WS500 is no more available and this can only be taken from any damaged / broken TV of same model.

Zenith was very well known for having bad pix tubes...and it was usually the green gun that was affected...there is a place in Illinois that carries the zenith line of replacement parts ... the website is www.ued.net and the name of the co. is Union Electronic Distributors....you may need to go to the website and get their ph # to talk to a rep....you will need the model no and serial no of the set to get a replacement tube...a word of caution though...pix tubes are very expensive ,,,,so dont be alarmed if it costs 500.00 or more

This may not be a picture tube problem, but considering the age of the unit it may be cold solder joints on or near the crt boards. Each tube has a CRT Board attached to the neck of each picture tube. Check these first for bad solder connections, in not then it may be the green tube has finally failed you. Getting tubes for this old of a unit will be very hard. IF it is the Tubes then i recommend you think about purchasing a newer set..

You can probably purchase a smilar set on Craig's list for $300.00, at least that's what they go for in the Austin Texas area.
A new tube may be too expensive and difficult to replace.

You have a bad blue picture tube. If you replace it the red and green will be weak and probably go sooner than you think. Everytime I had to replace a tube in a sony projo tv i had to replace all 3 picture tubes at the same time. It's very expensive if you don't have any type of warranty coverage.

Toshiba 32A41 TV -- color problem

Toshibas are notorious for developing shorts in the inernal guns of the picture tube. In your case the green gun is shorted to G1. The noise you heard was an internal arc between the elements. It is unfortunate however, the repair of this problem usually requires the picture tube to be replaced. Sometimes a savvy technician with sencore picture tube rejuvenator can remove the short. This however usually does not last. Scrivitron

Replace the green projection gun

I have almost the same problem, but it was with the blue CRT tube. The coolant leaked onto the underlying PCB and caused short-circuits and sparking or arking. I purchased an exact replacement PCB for the CRT, but I suspected most of its coolant had gone, so I need to re-fill the coolant for the blue CRT to stay cool.
