Question about HTC Control4 AVM-HTC1-B Home Theater Controller - Black System

Open Question

Remote won't communicate with the Control 4 AVM-HTC1-B unit

My remote all of sudden stopped working. I tried to reset the Control 4 unit and only difference is that the link light does not come on, the power light is the only light on. I tried pressing the Red 4 ubtton on the remote, the LCD comes on but nothing else turns, already tried replaceing the batteries. Do I need a replacement or is there a fix for this.

Power outage is very likely to kill these systems, your best bet (I'm assuming these are in your area) - would be crestron, they supply at around the same prices and their products are highly reccomended.
Try or failing that you're going to pay through the nose for similar equiment from other higher end dealers.
Wish you the best of luck and happy new year! And invest in a surge protector for 2011 :)

Most GE TV sets use a four digit code to control the v-chip. The code reset procedure is different depending on the model. Try each method until you find one that works:
  1. Hold down MENU on the remote and VOLUME DOWN on the TV it's self at the same time for at least 4 seconds. The set won't say so, but the lock will be unlocked
  2. Hold down the 0 on the remote and the VOLUME DOWN buttons on the TV its self at the same time for at least 4 seconds. The set won

"Dead" Remotes Can Be Saved
How to Re-Start Your "Dead" Remote Control
This only takes about a minute and will restart 1 in 3 "Dead" Original Remote Controls. Good Luck!
Step 1- Pull the batteries out of the remote and leave them out until Step 4.
Step 2- Press and release each and every button one at a time on the remote control until every button has been pressed and released at least once!
Step 3- If your remote has slide switches, you must move the switch to each position then repeat the button pushing in Step 2.
(When you're done, be sure to put the slide switch in the correct position to operate the unit the remote came with!)
Step 4- Put the batteries back into the remote, being very careful to install them correctly.
New batteries should be used if you're not sure about the old ones.
Step 5- Try the remote.
Special Note:
If you have a digital camera, camcorder or camera phone you can test the remote to see if it is emitting a signal. Face the remote towards the lens of the digital unit until you can see the front of the remote. Depress any button on the remote. You should see a light (steady, blink or flashing) being emitted from the remote. If you do then the problem might not be the remote but the sensor on the unit.
If it works, Great!

This is the second time this has happened. All components were replaced by Bose the first time. Suddenly, the remote control stopped working. But, I found that if I held it very close to the unit it...

The 'infrared beam' emitted by the remote is out of position inside the remote. You can actually 'bounce' the signal off the wall and it will work. Try moving the remote around the walls and hit the button. It will work at certain angels. You need to open up the remote and check the position of the little 'light' at the end of the remote. That's where the beam is emitted.Make sure it's pointing out. There is a little trick involving some aluminum foil under the bulb, a small piece (make sure it does not touch the leads) to concentrate the beam outward.

Control4 remote reset sequence

The SR150 and SR250 remotes can be re-imaged. The V2/1 remotes cannot, any problems they have are always battery related. Remove old batteries and wait at least 2 minutes then replace with new batteries. This will reset the remote but you may need a technician to reset the Zigbee network.

I have a Samsung HT-z510 home audio and the wireless receiver for the back speakers stays in standby mode. I have set the mode to cinema but it still stays in standby. What can I check next?

Here is how I reset. Key terms to identify: Main unit, remote unit, transmission card, reset button on remote unit. 1. Unplug both units and remove transmission card from rear of Main unit. 2. Wait five minutes. Insert transmission card in rear of Main. 3. Turn on both units. If units do not communicate, there will be a solid red indicator on remote unit...In this case continue with 4. Use remote and turn off main. 5. Point remote at main and enter the following four digits, holding each down for about a second:  0   1   3   5 6. The main unit should turn on. 7. With remote unit on, press and hold down the reset button for 5 seconds.
