Poweroutage t.v. won't work now

The power went out while the t.v. was on, I do have a power bar for such ocations. The t.v. is about 6yrs old never had any problems before. When the power came back on in the neighborhood the t.v. turns on , on the screen it says Unusable Signal. i have hooked it up to other cable outlets that run other t.v.s and it still says unusable signal. I have gone into menu and tried to setup , it goes through all the questions and then goes right back to the first menu screen. The dvd player works through it though. Any suggestions on what to do ?

It sounds like the TV set went to default settings. You should go into the menu again with the original remote and go thru the channel setup or guide plus if you have one. Good Luck PS Please dont forget to rate this thread.

I have a mitsubishi ms-65511 and we had a poweroutage for several hours today and now the tv won't turn on and I am getting a continuous green light of death ... HELP

Thats caused by weak capacitors on the DM board which cannot recharge after the power has been restored. Very inexpensive repair . The WS48511 - WS55511 DM repair kit from has the capacitors and the CD with repair instructions which should solve the issue of the steady blinking green light.

Was watching tv and I herd snap and there was no more pic. them smelled burn smell Tv is about 6yrs old

The burned smell comes from a shorted parts.
This is usually a burned fusible resistor act as a guard when there is a short circiut to avoid further damaged to other parts. I've suspect that you have a short on the power supply section which is caused by voltage regulator. This is not DIY and quite technical so I've advice you to look for a qualified technician or repair shop to isolate the problem. This is fixable.

Thanks for using fixya.

Tv will no longer come on we had a poweroutage and now tv will not work no sound . Where u turn it on the light is flashing

Your power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics’ and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like, to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Hope this help......

since your tv is 6yrs old it could be that the video circuit has cold solder that needs to be resolder if that does not work then a focus on the video circuit by replacing the component there, it could be an ic or transistors or diode.if you are not a tech get one to look at your set.good luck.for further help email me at
