I have the unlock stereo code for my 1997 mitsubishi. For some reason the stereo will not accept it. Is there a certain way to do it? If so, how?

Hello cclabby61,

Could you please tell me the brand and model of your radio? that way i can search for the codes.

You can also Mitsubishi or your car dealer and ask them for the code.

Read first where to find the code clicking here.

If you cannot find the code, do the following

Contact a Mitsubishi car dealer from , give them the car Chassis number and they will provide you with the stereo lock code from their records.

    or follow the procedure below:

"On your radio your preset stations each have a number 1,2,3,4,5,etc.
The first preset station represents the first number in your code. if
your code is 8642 then you would: press #1 preset 9 times. press #2
preset 7 times. press #3 preset 5 times. press #4 preset 3 times. (The
    first press is a 0)

After you enter YOUR code (not this code) then press the cd button.
    "

I need a radio reset code for a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse. Radi model MR337276 serial #06179043B for Title 4A3AC54H31E016106. Thank you for your assistance

Your Code is 0642

Input the code by pressing preset 1 to scroll through the first digit, preset 2 for the second digit, preset 3 for the third digit, and preset 4 for the fourth digit.

When you have the correct code displayed, press the CD button to unlock the radio. If your radio does not have a CD button, some use the AM/FM or TAPE button to unlock as well.

Please be sure to rate me if I have been of assistance!

The battery died on my 2001 eclipse, now the radio only says ''off''?

This is the anti-theft device on your factory radio. When the battery died, the radio thought it had been removed from your car and went into anti-theft mode. When you turned the car back on, the radio should have read "CODE" on the display, at which point you need to enter the factory anti-theft code. After 3 failed attempts at entering the code, it will simply read "OFF" and the radio is locked.

At this point:
- find your factory anti-theft code - it should be in your owner's manual, or you can contact a dealer to retrieve it
- turn the key to the ACC position (radio and accessories on, but engine is off)
- turn on the radio so the display reads "OFF"
- let the car sit for 1 hour
- radio will turn off automatically and reset
- turn the radio on again, and it should read "CODE"
- enter the factory anti-theft code

Make sure you have the code before starting the procedure. To enter the code, use the radio preset buttons. For example, if your code is "4321", hit Preset #1 button four times, Preset #2 three times, Preset #3 two times, and Preset #4 one time. Then hit the "Tape" or "CD" button. Radio should now be unlocked.
