Actually my computer is ACER and originally I had Windows XP on my previous computer but I have Vista on this one......I originally had the Kodak Easyshare on the Windows & it was transferred to the new Computer using Vista.....is there a compatibility problem and if so how do I solve it?

  • unial Nov 08, 2008

Is there a phone number I can call to talk directly to an expert? That way I can bring up the Easyshare and the Printmaster Software together.....also, the solution given doesn't address the reason that Photo CDs (from our latest trip) don't automatically enter the easyshare system like they used to.

  • unial Nov 08, 2008

Since the CDs used to automatically enter the system, how come they don't now? Is there a way to reinstall the Easyshare system (as it used to be) or accept the new Easyshare upgrade so that it will perform as it used to??

  • unial Nov 08, 2008

Let's look at it another way....perhaps I'm not explaining it properly. I have many pictures on Easyshare at present......pictures that went in from CDs before I started having the problems. It I open Printmaster & Easyshare, move a picture into position and then drag the picture to the bottom of the monitor to Printmaster (it used to imediately show up on the Printmaster item I was working with - ie a greeting card or a poster - but now it just disappears, why??

  • unial Nov 08, 2008

OK, so since I have no sound I can't use chat, and since I can't have a phone # - please address the problems of automatic acceptance of photo CDs into easyshare and how I can get the pictures to drag onto Printmaster projects

  • unial Nov 08, 2008

I don't know if the solution is helpful or not until I try to accomplish it and see if it works. I'll have to work on it (I may have to call on my son to help me with the uninstall and reinstall stuff) and get back to you at a later date.

You will need the Vista driver.

Or try this:
1. Click on the START button then select CONTROL PANEL . Under control panel you then click onto PROGRAMS under Programs select “Use an older program with this version of Windows”.

2. Select “I want to use the program in the CD-ROM drive/I want to locate the program manually” and click Next.

3. As a result of selecting to run the program from the CD-ROM drive/location you will see a message at which point you will have the option to choose your operating system. Select the “Microsoft Windows XP” option and click Next.

4. You then will be prompted to select a display setting. Select “256 colors” and click Next.

5. On the next screen, click Next .

6. Select “Allow” and the program will begin to install.

You will need to uninstall and reinstall the latest easy share. Also uninstall and reinstall the printmaster software. Also if this is a new installation of easy share make sure you have the settings to associate picture cd's with that software. If you need further assistance after you have uninstalled and reinstalled everything let me know. Please take a moment and accept and rate a solution that you find helpful.
Thanks,
Lee

Hello Unial,

Once why dont you open easyshare and then drag your pictures in there. Then i guess from there you can drag them to the printmaster.

This is because Easyshare is not installed on the system registry as ones of the applications that start automatically on startup.

If you started having this problem recently, try using System restore to roll back the changes.

If you have XP see here : How to perform System Restore on Windows...

As I told you, try first using system restore.

If that does not work, uninstall Easyshare from Control Panel>>Add remove Programs, then reinstall easyshare from disk.

This should fix the problem .

Give it a try, if that does not work we do some more troubleshooting.

If you want Phone support on Kodac easyshare, you can call the toll free number 1-800-235-6325 (23KODAK), option 11, Monday through Sunday, 9 A.M. to 8 P.M. Eastern time. The typical wait time is 15 minutes.

Give them a call and let me know.

    Thanks

My computer says I'm missing esapp.dll & ltdis10n.dll. How do I fix that?

This may be due some or all of the following reason: Corrupt file-system, corrupt registry entry, improper/incomplete device driver installation or software installation or may be due to a virus infection.
Make sure you have a backup of important files/photos/documents in your system.
Try repairing you file-system using check disk utility that comes with windows. Repair your registry using a registry tool. Update the device driver or the application. esapp.dll & ltdis10n.dll belongs to Kodak Easy Share application. First completely remove the application and try reinstalling it. Have a full system virus scan with latest virus definition update.
Update your windows system with current patches and fixes using Windows Update utility.
All the best

I don't seem to be able to send photos by Kodak Easyshare e-mail even though I am on line and the address is correct.

Ditch Kodak Easyshare and just use your email program:
Attachment basics When you send photos in e-mail, the photos go along for the ride as attachments, just like any other file you add to an e-mail.
To attach a photo in Outlook:
  1. Click New to open a Message window.
  2. Fill in the To and Subject boxes as usual and type any message you wish to accompany the photos.
  3. Click Insert File (the paperclip icon), locate your file through the Insert File box, click the file's name and then click the Insert button. If you wish to add multiple files from within the same folder, hold down the Ctrl key while clicking multiple files, then click the Insert button.
  4. Repeat Step 3 for any other files you wish to attach.
  5. Click Send.
In Outlook Express:
  1. Click Create Mail to open a New Message window.
  2. Fill in the To and Subject lines and type in your message.
  3. Click the Attach button, locate the file in the Insert Attachment box and click Attach. Use Ctrl-click to select multiple files.
  4. Click Send.
In Netscape Mail:
  1. Click New Message to open the Compose window.
  2. Fill in the To and Subject lines, and type in your message.
  3. Click the Attach button or, in Netscape 6, click in the empty Attachments box.
  4. Select your file in the Enter Files To Attach dialog and click Open.
  5. To attach multiple files, repeat Steps 3 and 4.
  6. Click Send.

I am trying to download the latest version of kodak easyshare

Hello,

You can download the latest version of Easyshare from this link.
http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/software/easyshare/en/dln_ekn026079.jhtml?pq-path=4509

Just select your operating system from the list at the top and choose the download button to start the download. If you have XP or Vista, you may see a yellow bar at the top of the browser. This is a security banner, just click the banner and choose Download File then click Save. Make sure that the Save field says Desktop. If it doesnt, you can click the Save in field and choose Desktop. Then click Save at the bottom to start the download. After it completes you should have a file on your desktop called install_easyshare.exe. Just double click the file to start the program install.

Thanks

In the Kodak Easyshare software program, a message pops up saying,"The file "Content.dat" is missing from the ini directory. Insure that the PCDAddIn" installer copied this file from...

Go to control settings on you PC then to add and remove Software. find in the list Kodak easyshare and remove it.
reboot your PC and insert the Kodak easyshare CD in the pc and reinstall.
Your Ini file is corrupt trying to fix an Ini file without advanced knowledge can do more damage and waste of time than just rinstalling it.
Hope this helps
good luck
