Re: Volume fluctuates???

Try ggetting a new battery and alternator, if the amp isn't getting enough power when the motor isn't revved then the voltage drops

Re: Volume fluctuates???

-Your head unit has a sound monitor that increases volume to compensate for road noise. -Your amp isn't receiving enough power.

Amp cuts off at high volume

Problem could be that you need to upgrade your battery, do the "big 3" wiring by a professional. Get a kinetic 1200 or bigger to replace your stock battery, drive your car for 5 or 10 miles, and watch your amp not shut down. People just dont do the big 3, and they think their stock lead acid will hold 13 volts after the power is shut off. LOL. KINETIC.

Amp is only driving the subwoofer when in low volume. If i raise the volume amp shuts down and only works again if i turn power completely off.

it sounds like there might not be enough voltage to the amp check that first. If the voltage is lower than 12 volts when you get to that point then you need a stronger battery or a second battery.

I recently baught the rockford fosgate P2's and i got the KAC9103 ampliyfer. and i had best buy install em both and they ran the wires too. the problem is when i crank the volume on the deck to...

It's possible that the installer cheated on wiring gauge, using wire too light for the 12v side causing the voltage to be dropped to a level the Fosgate won't tolerate and causing it to shut down.
If you have a multimeter, monitor the supply voltage at the amplifier while a friend turns the volume up. If you see a significant decrease in the 12 volts, the wire feeding the amp is too light.

Amp volume problem

Sounds like you have a bad or dirty gain potentiometer. Try turning the gain up and down with the volume at a moderate level. If u hear static, it is possible the potentiometer is bad or dirty. Replace with one of the same value and see if that solves your problem.

Sony MEX-1GP getting warm

It's common for head units to run extremely hot when driving all 4 channels from the internal amplifier. If you can get some air flowing over the heatsink, it will help greatly. The smallest fan you can find will move enough air to reduce the temperature significantly (assuming it's placed where it can be effective).

A better option would be to use an external amplifier.

Peavey Bass amp 115

HI Subicbay,

ADjust your Gain setting to limit just enough so the amp does not go into Protect mode. Turn your Gain all the way down, then crank up the bass from your system. GRadually turn up the gain until you trip on protect. Turn the gain back a notch and your set for no more protect.
