Reboot the machine. tap the f8 key and select safe mode. boot into safe mode and see if the computer freezes up again.

in the event it doesnt, you have a bad driver or new software on the drive. to correct this go to gateway.com select your model and download any recent updates including the bios. also uninstall any new service packs or software you had loaded recently.

reboot machine and see if you have the same error.

if this continues or it froze in safemode you could have two problems,

1. Corrupt OS files, the fix: Restore Machine after backing up data.
2. GPU having issues and heating up to the point it turns off, the fix: Local repair shop or Gateway replace mobo or local repair shop reflow board.

Let me know what you try and what works! Good Luck!

i understand the concern about saved items, if they are very important then purchase a USB to Sata connector, from here you can connect the device to the laptop hard drive (after you remove it of course) and plug that into any machine with a usb connection. from there you can back up items and get access to your hard drive. if you are gonna do this you might as well run a diskchk to see if thats an issue causing the problems. sometimes the hard drive gets corrupt and when it loads certain os software it freezes, its due to bad areas that it has be stored on or just created bad clusters. either way if you load up the hard drive to another computer, go to my computer, right click the hard drive that comes up, it will not be the c: drive anymore it will be renamed like F: or G: and when you see them. right click and select properties. from there select tools. and run diskchck. select both checkboxes, if your disk is over 80gbs, it will take a while, but it will repair any bad areas on the hard drive partition.

Good Luck! dont forget to rate me!

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My new ipod pink nano 8gb keeps freezing

First you have a bad port on computer you probably need to plug your cable in the back of the computer. If you keep letting your ipod freeze like that your going to seriously mess it up. I'm going to teach you a way to fix your problem with freezing. the next time your ipod freezes hold the "MENU" and "CENTER" button at the same time. After that you need to take your ipod and restore it through iTunes. Please rate this response I would like to know if I helped.

My new ipod pink nano 8gb keeps freezing

The only thing that i can think of that would help would be to restore your iPod through iTunes. One of the updates might have gotten corrupted. Also, does it only freeze on certain songs or does it just freeze randomly?

Freezing / no recognition by computer

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
Then do firmware upgrade
