Dell Color Laser 3110cn PCL6 Printing Color on Gloss

I enjoy my laser printer but everytime I Glossy Paper for brochures the color bleads in one corner or across the bottom. I can't find any remedies for this bleading. If I use just regular paper, it prints find except on the glossy white. Does anyone have an idea whats going on? If you had the same problem or you got a solution to the problem, please email me at gwhit789141@comcast.net .

I have the same type problem with my Dell 3110cn. It only print good on plain paper. Any type of coated paper it looks like the toner has been burned off the paper. And checking the fuser, it has toner stuck to parts in it. It used to print good until I made a mistake and put glossy ink jet paper in it and the problems began. I suspect the fuser is the source of the problem so I'm going to try replacing it.

Is there a PS driver available for your machine? I would try downloading and installing that.

SOURCE: kodak 5300 wont print on glossy side of photo paper

I just sussed this issue out. On the front of the printer tray there is another pull out tray, this opens up and must activate the photo printing for A4 because it stops the paper falling on the floor once printed (cos once printed on photo paper it may still be wet). As soon as I opened the tray (and it then opens again - you'll see what I mean) it printed A4 photo paper perfectly
Hope this helps others

SOURCE: kodak 5300 aio printer won't print black

My 5300 printer is only 15 month old and has developed a fault, it will not print in Black. The photo side 6x4 is great but on the A4 side the text is grey and the photos discoloured. I have gone through cleaning the heads both basic and deep, no joy, have recalibrated still no good, any solutions.

Thanks
Dave

Be careful running "Glossy" paper through your laser printer. Make sure the paper package says that the paper is "Laser" paper. If your not careful the glossy part of the paper will melt on to your fuser leading to a major repair!

What type of glossy paper should be used for Samsung CL315W Color Laser Printer?

Really there are no 'photo papers' for color laser. As the toner 'sits' on the surface of the page it makes little difference what paper type you use. Ink on the other hand is absorbed into photo paper and the gloss finish gives it a nice look and feel.
You may get a perceived effect with different brightness of paper. I have found the the high bright copy paper is best.

The inkjet papers will not work as it has a coating for inks not toners. From experience and trying various glossy laser papers, I have found that different ones work differently with each laser and its only trial and error. When you print try and scratch the surface as we have found that on alot of the papers the toners scratch off pretty easily.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

Thanks, Joe

Paper Jams if I use a high gloss Laser printer paper. Looks like an accordian before the fuser.

Good day Sir, If you are using high gloss laser printer paper I suggest load up to 25 sheets.
  • make sure the glossy or the printable side of paper faces you.
  • the paper is loaded against the right side of the paper support.
  • the paper guide rests against the left edge of the paper.
Note: photos require more drying time. Remove each photo as its exits, and allow it to dry to avoid smudging.

have a nice day, hope this will help you.

Dell 3110cn Color Laser Printer Certain colors will not adhere to the page when printed on heavy paper. Combination of green/black wipes off the paper when rubbed.

Either the paper is just too thick for the printer to fuse the toner correctly, or you've NOT selected the right paper type (in the printer driver options.

If you're just printing that same as you would on ordinary A4 paper, the fuser can't get enough heat through the thick paper to fuse the toner.

May be a wrong toner problem if you've done this successfully before, but only had this problem since changing toner cartridge(s)

How do you print Glossy Photos on a Samsung Color Laser CLX-3160FN printer without the laser buring off the gloss?

Do you have the right type of paper? I suspect the glossy paper you have is for an inkjet and is melting/buring when it is going through the fuser of your laser printer. The same thing for sticky back labels. Unless they say they are rated or compatible with a laser printer, don't use them.

Blurry, Ink Smeared pages

If the media (glossy paper) is designed for an ink jet printer you should be fine.

Ink has to be able to be absorbed into the fibers of the page. If you are using paper for a laser color printer, that's your problem.

You should try to reinstall the firmware update. It was interrupted and that could have led to this problem.
