Question about GE WVSR1060A Top Load Washer
The machine appears to fill and drain properly. However, the tub doesn't spin in the drain cycle, nor dies the agitator appear to agieate.
When it was working, it would make a terrible sound when it started and would make a loud sound when spinning.
Now there is a humming sound, but nothing happens, except the pump does pump out the water.
Is it the transmission of the brushes in the motor? Maybe both?
First look to see if this is a belt drive. If not look for a coupler(round black rubber piece with three holes, three plastic fingers from both sides going in it) from the motor to the gearcase. The motor sit between the pump and gearcase, it will pump out, but not spin.
