SHARP MINI Component System CD-ES770

I own this stereo for about two years now. I put it on and it came on, but no sound. I checked all connections and everything was okay. I used a battery to test the speakers to make sure that they are not damaged, they work fine. SO i decided to take my earphone and plug it into the earphone jack same thing no sound! could it be that the main amplifier IC module is damaged?

  • The little fan behind does not spin when the speakers are plugged-in. The fan spins only if i take out the red or black speaker wire and as soon as i insert it, it stops again. I need urgent assist with this problem. I am low on funds to pay for tech service. I lost my Job too. Thanks

I've been messing with mine because it says no disc and I messed it up so it started saying this error. Unscrew the screws around the top (4 screws) and slide off the top cover. The small black rectangular box that sits over the eye/laser can be removed carefully by compressing the clips. Then the cd tray can be removed. I figured out this error was coming up because I had the tray out of alignment... so try to see if that's the problem with yours... also the eye itself slides (the entire mechanism it's on... slides away from and towards the place where the cd sits to be lifted and read) and it should be as close as possible to the area that lifts the cd. Sorry if this isn't making sense... trying to explain in the best way possible. The tray being out of alignment causes that error though.

I have a Sharp CD-C2600 3 disk mini component system that has not been used for a few years. I thought I would dust it off and use it, however, the cd tray will not stay closed. Fixable?

I just checked online you will need to remove the screws from the back which should allow entry to cd player. It sounds to me like you need to put small amount of lubricant on the trays release slides. They should in theory be quite obvious once you open system up. Something like wd40 spray should surfice.

CD stuck

sadly? these units aren't designed to be repaired I've had several here with the same issue it seems that in every case the plastic gear has worn out and the only way is to replace that plastic gear..good luck finding one that will will work!!! best advice is to take the rig back and try to get a refund or exchange..if no go? get another cd player and play IT through the aux connection in the back of your current stereo..sorry but these are not really designed to be repaired..

I replaced my mini component stereo (360 watt) speakers with new speakers that apparently can handle up to 600 watts. If the volume is too high on the receiver, the power cuts out. I think this is because...

probably you are right due to high impedance of the speaker the receiver cant handle it, the mini component can handle 80 to 100 watts only. you need a high watts amplifier to used your 360 watts speaker, just connect it to the audio output of the mini component. thanks

Do not replace any component if you do not have any evidence that is defective. You may make things worse.

Look for bulged capacitors, trace of burnt and broken solder joints on the mainboard, check also that the volume variable resistor is working, read impedance.
