Question about Toshiba PC Desktops

1 Answer

Hello, I have a Toshiba Satellite A300. I use it for internet and studies and would like to use it for games as well. Unfortunatley it does not seem to manage the newer games well and I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade the graphics card or ram or something to improve its performance in this area. Thank you, Joseph.

There would be little problem upgrading the ram, however I can almost guarantee that the graphics is not upgradable. I would need to know more about the graphics hardware is in the computer. (i.e. integraded, graphics card, manufacturer, etc).

If there isn't any specification of there being a card anywhere, this is probably because the computer does not have a graphics card. Some lower-cost laptops have the graphics built into the motherboard. You would then have to replace the entire motherboard, and that is quite the process. I will look into the A300 and I need you to post a comment that tells me everything you know about the hardware of your computer (ram, sound, hard drive, optical drives, etc). Also tell me what opperating system that you are using so that I can tell you how to find out what your computer has as far as graphics.

The graphics is built into the motherboard. There is no way to upgrade the graphics itself. You would have to replace the motherboard. As far as the ram, I guess you could upgrade from 3 gigs to 4 gigs however, without being able to upgrade your graphics (which are not good) that won't do you much good as far as gaming. The GMA under graphics that you listed stands for graphics media accelerator which is built into the mother board and there is no graphics card to upgrade. If you want to game with this laptop, you will have to put a lot of money into it. Sorry. I hope I have been extremely helpful to you. If you have any other questions, post another comment.

I thought I would let you know reel quick, this is definitely a good computer. Everything else is very good. Your only problem is graphics. If you ever plan to buy again, make sure your graphics is a card so that you can upgrade. It costs a little more but you usually get a better computer with it.

No, but you could try the chkdsk command: - make sure you're on the C: drive or the drive which carries windows. Enter CHKDSK (Checkdisk) it will check your HDD for errors even try to repair them. Because it looks like you may have a disk failure.

You will have to run the home or office wizard on your existing connection to start using internet. You can activate the wizard through the network connection icon in control panel. There inside the network connection window on left side, u can see the link to it. Follow the steps. Ignore disconnected hardware if any. Do rate my reply... Thanx n regards

If you’re new Toshiba laptop is running windows vista, the answer is yes. You will need to go to www.hp.com and click on the support tab. This will allow you to type in your model number of you printer so you can download the latest drivers for the printer. After you type in you model number and click search, the website will ask you what version of windows you are running. The options cover both Vista and windows XP. Just pick and you will be able to download the driver with software or just the driver.

I cant seem to find how to connect the internet to my Toshiba Satellite M105

Dear geezy_goez,

You seem to have lost the shortcut to your browser. Assuming you have Windows, you can start IE by going to Start, Run and typing "iexplore" in the box. That should start Internet Explorer.

Regards.

Ok. There should be an application on your pc that came for the keyboard. Most likely it should be in the Control Panel. If you do not find anything there, you can check in the Keyboard Section....

Also, look in the taskbar and see if there is a keyboard utility....
