Have you formatted the card in the camera before trying to use it? (download any pictures still on the card using a card reader if necessary).

Clean or format card error on Olympus XD card

There are most likely some "corrupted" images on your xD card. Very often a card reader "writes" data to the card while transferring or copying images into the computer. When you re-insert the card back into the camera, it doesn't recognize the new data (because it didn't create it), and gives the error, usually requiring a complete formatting be performed. There are also problems if you use a reader to rotate images, then re-install the card in the camera. The best way to accomplish what you were doing is to transfer the images into a folder on your computer, as the camera shot them (don't rotate them first). That way, you haven't altered any data on the card. For now, however, I suggest you format the card in the camera, so you can start with a "clean slate". Good luck.

Card error when i put new xd card into my camedia c-450 zoom it wont format, comes up with card error message (using olympus 1gb xd card.)

The problem is that the largest xD card that your camera can support is an M or H 512mb card. The 1gb card is not compatible.

its the card not the camera.
i think you fingers have come into contact with the gold bits on the xd card.

Olympus 770 not able to move photos from xd card to laptop error message every time

A couple of questions :

What happens when you use "Windows Explorer" to view the contents of the card .
It should appear as just another disk drive in the list .

Are you able to view the contents of the card when you plug the camera into the usb port ?
