Hi rbv1222,

40:1 is the ratio.

40 parts Gas to 1 part oil.
3.2 oz of oil per gal gas.

Glad to be of assistance. Please rate the solution because I can learn from your rating.
Thank you

Need gas/oil ratio for Husky 350. Thanks

50:1 is the correct ratio. Be sure to shake the fuel can just before filling each time to prevent oil starvation. Don't make up more than a gallon at a time unless sawing is your business. Always use fresh fuel and a modern synthetic saw oil. Hope this helps!

Oil & gas ratio for an older Craftsman chainsaw?

Unless the saw is over 40 years old, 40:1 ratio will work well. Really old saws required 30/32:1 ratios when petroleum based oils were used. Be sure to premix the fuel and a modern synthetic saw oil in it's own can and be sure to shake thoroughly just before refueling each time. Check the H jet setting by warming the engine up, then pull the throttle full on. Proper adjustment is when the engine 4-strokes running free, but immediately 2-strokes when cutting. Be sure to check the fuel filter, air cleaner and muffler for plugging before making any jet adjustment. Hope this helps!

Need to know the oil to gas ratio for a 056 stihl chainsaw?

Stihl chainsaws are 1:50 oil to gas ratio. Make sure you use good high-quality 2-stroke oil, preferably that which is made by Stihl.

2.0 Cubic Inch Montgomery Ward gas chain saw, 10 inch cutting bar

Fuel/Oil Mixture
  1. Use a quality 2 cycle oil and mix it to the OIL supplier's recommended ratio. Today I use Stihl 2 cycle oil mixed @ 50:1 in a Pioneer that I purchased new in 1980. There are no gouges or scratches on the piston or cylinder and I have no carbon build up on the piston top. The manual (on stone tablets) recommends 24:1. Over the years the mixture has leaned from 24:1 (Saw Recommendation) to 28:1 (Lawn boy mower recommendation) to 32:1 (Oil provider 8oz/2gal - used for many years) and finally the last 5 (±) years 50:1 (Stihl 2.6oz/1gal)
  2. Any fuel containing ethanol is not good with chainsaws. Mix what you expect to use within a few months. Anything over 3 months old use up in a 4 cycle engine. HTH
