We have a Kenmore washing machine model number 22292...it is a top load and as soon as it is done with the spin cycle and is going over to the rinse it shakes violently and sounds as if it is an airplane trying to take off! The clothes are level in it. It only does this at the very end of the spin cycles.
Any idea to what it is and how we can fix it ourselves?

kind of hard to solve without more info.but it could be unlevel find a level or borrow one and place on top of washer.make sure it reads between bubble on level.check both sides on top of washer.if you hear kind of grinding noises and shifts hard it could be transmission..
If it's a FAV6800A or FAV9800A you could have Outer Tub bearing issues brought on by a Tub Seal leak. Have you had any unbalance error codes such as dC or uC in the past? Open the washer lid and spin the wash basket as fast as you can in the CCW direction the Spin cycle direction do you hear metal against metal sounds? Does the wash bsket coast down after several revolutions to a slow stop? If it's Outer Tub bearings this is a big job but can be done by anyone who is handy and some direction.
