Hello The problem is with it laser pickup unit itself. Either it may dirty or damaged. Just put a head cleaning disc into the player, and play it for at least 3 times. If the fault is with dust or dirt, this will clear up. If not, be sure that the lase head assembly has damaged, and should be replaced with same type and number. Usually the cost of the laser picku unit with service charge will come more that the cost of the set istself. So it will be wise to buy a new one, if laser head assembly is found damaged. Ok
WISH YOU A MERRY X'MAS AND HAPPY 2012. Gopakumar G, Trivandrum City, Kerala State, South India.
Did you try with batteries? If that works, the internal power supply fails. A handy person with basic knowledge of electricity
measurement, some good screw-drivers, a multi-meter and a soldering iron may solve most probably the problem.( You find persons with such disease at most unexpected places)
Getting spare parts in case of need maybe a little more difficult.
