"Programming Error" In the process of trying to change the clock for daylight savings, I now have some kind of programming error according to the manual. When I push any button there is a double beep, but nothing activates. I orginally thought I put it in sabboth mode, but there was no "sabb" on the display, the (wrong) time shows. I've pushed the cancel button for 5 seconds as well as every other button, nothing works. When the error initially occured, the broiler came on and I couldn't turn it off by pushing cancel; had to unplug it. I left it unplugged for 24 hours. It's been a week and the problem has not corrected itself. Any ideas?

I initially unplugged for a day - that did not work. Any other suggestions?

  • Rellerell Nov 10, 2008

Another note.. I have also already reset the power from the circuit box and that did not work either.

  • Rellerell Nov 10, 2008

Thamks for telling me there is a programming error, but I gathered that much from reading the manual. I'm needing to know HOW to fix it. Is there anyone that is fairly knowledgeable about programming and can tell me exactly what to do outside of unplug and reset? Or is this a 'real' issue with faulty parts that needs a technician? The oven is barely 2 years old and not heavily used.

It could be faulty board or the timer or the control switch or may be anything else as there r many things that could be faulty in this problem which u r facing.calling a technician is much advisable as it is internal error.and many options and doubts needs to be check out 1 by 1 .and that can be properly done by professional technician.as he would be having proper tools to check it out.
thanks.

Hi Because the timer controls many operations, a faulty timer can cause many problems. The timer is a complex component, so you shouldn't attempt a do-it-yourself repair. Test the timer with a VOM set to the RX1 scale. To gain access to the timer, remove the front control panel. The timer is directly behind the main timer control knob. Disconnect one of the timer's terminal wires and clip one probe of the VOM to each terminal. If the meter reads zero, the timer is working. If the meter reads higher than zero, the timer is faulty and should be replaced.

If possible, use the same procedure to test the selector and cycle switches. The wiring hookup, however, may be too complicated to figure out on either of these switches. If you aren't sure you can deal with these switches, call a professional service person. Replace a faulty timer -- or a faulty control switch -- with a new one made for the dishwasher.

The timer is connected to several wires that supply power to operate the various functions of the dishwasher. To replace the timer, have a helper hold the new timer next to the old one. Connect the wires of the new timer one by one, removing the old wire and connecting the new, to make sure you connect the wires correctly. The wires may be friction-fit on the terminals. If they are, use long-nosed pliers to remove the wires. Don't pull up on the wires, or you may break the connection between the wires and the clips.

After connecting the wires, set the new timer in position, secure it the way the old one was secured, and replace the control panel and knobs.

There is some sort of programming error, you try to restore it original/default setting if it has any option. if not consult a qualified technician for proper repair and fixation of problem.

Try first unplugging power cord for ten minutes or so .

Your appliance does not have an eeprom battery, to keep stored programmed settings when power is off.

Therefore you can reset all circuits tto factory default settings, by simply unplugging the power cord for some time.

Try first ten minutes, then one hour, just in case.

If you get the error on restart , then it is probably a faulty control circuit board.

    You can find replacement here.

How to change the time for daylight saving on kxt7730

If this is an analog system (ie TA-308/TA-624/TA-824-KXT-61610/etc) or a TD digital system, then you have to log into the System by a program switch on the cabinet or PROGRAM *#1234 at the first extension (usually 101 or 11) and change the time via program 00 or 000.

If the system is a TAW, TDA, or NCP, you can set the automatic daylight savings clock times for the next 20 years in programming.
For the short time, the programming instructions will change it until April.

If you have CID, the CID source will normally set the clock at the first call past 2:00 AM.

My clock went back one hour on Sunday 10/25, need to get it to move ahead one hour.

The clock program for Daylight savings Time is programmed for the old "third Sunday in October" changeover. The new changeover is the first Sunday in November. The program probably cannot be updated. If there is no button or setting to disable automatic change to Daylight Savings Time you can set the time manually and then change it manually to Daylight Savings on November 1 for the time to be correct.

Need to update daylight savings time date

This is from the Timex FAQs site:

Q: My clock did not update for DST.
A: We apologize but there is no patch available. Consumers must change clocks manually. Due to newly enacted government regulations, effective this year you must change the time manually, since the calendar was programmed to change according to the time DST issued by the government, it will not recognize the change after 2007. Now the time must be changed 4 times. Press & hold the time set button until the time flash, then release it and press the ff >> or << rev buttons.

Wrong Time

This appears to be a issue with the Magellan code. The Magellan code is setting Daylight Savings Time according to 2007 rules and not the 2008 rules. Magellan support indicates to change the time zone from Eastern to Central, save it and then put the time zone back to Eastern Time. I do not understand this solution. You can simply uncheck the Daylight Savings Time option and this will put the clock to the correct time. You will need to check the Daylight Savings Time option to put the clock ahead one hour when the clock is off by one hour. Magellan support informs me this is a manual process. Magellan needs to create a fix in their firmware to change the clock according to 2008 Daylight Savings Time when the box is checked.

There is a solution for this already. You can reprogram the clock to use the new DST settings.

There was a sheet of paper that came with my clock explaining how to adjust the daylight savings time settings, but I lost it.  Anyone have theirs?  All i know is it requires that you press an awkward combination of buttons simultaneously, but that's it.

Turning daylight saving time OFF

If DST is *already* set to "on" when you reset the time zone to Z-07 (Hawaii), my very recent experience is that the time *still gets adjusted back* by one hour.  Now that daylight savings time is over (at least according to the clock's pre-programmed and outdated schedule) I'm hoping that setting the time zone to Z-07 (Hawaii) will completely cancel the automatic time changes from now on.  Otherwise, I need to purchase another clock, and it won't be a Timex.
