"Programming Error" In the process of trying to change the clock for daylight savings, I now have some kind of programming error according to the manual. When I push any button there is a double beep, but nothing activates. I orginally thought I put it in sabboth mode, but there was no "sabb" on the display, the (wrong) time shows. I've pushed the cancel button for 5 seconds as well as every other button, nothing works. When the error initially occured, the broiler came on and I couldn't turn it off by pushing cancel; had to unplug it. I left it unplugged for 24 hours. It's been a week and the problem has not corrected itself. Any ideas?

I initially unplugged for a day - that did not work. Any other suggestions?

  • Rellerell Nov 10, 2008

Another note.. I have also already reset the power from the circuit box and that did not work either.

Thamks for telling me there is a programming error, but I gathered that much from reading the manual. I'm needing to know HOW to fix it. Is there anyone that is fairly knowledgeable about programming and can tell me exactly what to do outside of unplug and reset? Or is this a 'real' issue with faulty parts that needs a technician? The oven is barely 2 years old and not heavily used.

It could be faulty board or the timer or the control switch or may be anything else as there r many things that could be faulty in this problem which u r facing.calling a technician is much advisable as it is internal error.and many options and doubts needs to be check out 1 by 1 .and that can be properly done by professional technician.as he would be having proper tools to check it out.
thanks.

Hi Because the timer controls many operations, a faulty timer can cause many problems. The timer is a complex component, so you shouldn't attempt a do-it-yourself repair. Test the timer with a VOM set to the RX1 scale. To gain access to the timer, remove the front control panel. The timer is directly behind the main timer control knob. Disconnect one of the timer's terminal wires and clip one probe of the VOM to each terminal. If the meter reads zero, the timer is working. If the meter reads higher than zero, the timer is faulty and should be replaced.

If possible, use the same procedure to test the selector and cycle switches. The wiring hookup, however, may be too complicated to figure out on either of these switches. If you aren't sure you can deal with these switches, call a professional service person. Replace a faulty timer -- or a faulty control switch -- with a new one made for the dishwasher.

The timer is connected to several wires that supply power to operate the various functions of the dishwasher. To replace the timer, have a helper hold the new timer next to the old one. Connect the wires of the new timer one by one, removing the old wire and connecting the new, to make sure you connect the wires correctly. The wires may be friction-fit on the terminals. If they are, use long-nosed pliers to remove the wires. Don't pull up on the wires, or you may break the connection between the wires and the clips.

After connecting the wires, set the new timer in position, secure it the way the old one was secured, and replace the control panel and knobs.

There is some sort of programming error, you try to restore it original/default setting if it has any option. if not consult a qualified technician for proper repair and fixation of problem.

Try first unplugging power cord for ten minutes or so .

Your appliance does not have an eeprom battery, to keep stored programmed settings when power is off.

Therefore you can reset all circuits tto factory default settings, by simply unplugging the power cord for some time.

Try first ten minutes, then one hour, just in case.

If you get the error on restart , then it is probably a faulty control circuit board.

    You can find replacement here.

How to reset clock when daylight savings ends?

Hello Fran Addington, thanks for your post!
I understand that you are having difficulty setting the time on your Frigidaire range. With some ranges once you press "Clock" the time is actually set using the keypad with the numbers. I would attempt to use the keypad. If that does not help correct the issue could you please provide me with your model number? Typically, you can locate the model number on the bottom panel behind the drawer. I look forward to assisting you further. -Matt

Frigidaire gas range model ES330 error code SAb

This is SB mode, show room mode. To deactivate showroom mode, remove power and reapply. Press Cancel to bypass programming clock. Within 60 seconds of reapplying power, press Oven Light key and top oven Timer key simultaneously.

Control panel shows code 5A6 Replaced igniter and won't reset.

I'm afraid you may have wasted your money on a new igniter. The "error" your range is displaying is actually "SAB", which means it has inadvertently been set on "Sabbath Mode". This mode enables the feature for some religious faiths to disable certain features of the range in order to honor the sabbath. Usually this disables the oven, but allows the consumer to still use the surface burners. You cannot defeat it by unplugging the range or turning off the breaker either. You will either have to wait 72 hours for the mode to clear, or figure out how to turn it off.

NOTE: This generally does NOT indicate a component malfunction. This is an operator function that can often be set by accident (usually when attempting to adjust the clock for daylight savings time).

Somewhere in the owner/operator's manual is a section that refers to "Sabbath Mode". Since all ranges differ in features, you need to refer to the operation section of your owner's manual to find out how to shut the feature off. If the model number is correct, according to page 12 of the Owner's Manual, to cancel the Sabbath Mode, you need to press and hold the CLOCK button for 5 seconds.

If you can't find this information, or no longer have an owner's manual, you can download or print a copy for FREE at managemylife.com. Just enter your model number under the "Manuals" link and you will find it listed in .pdf (Adobe) format. Your manual can be downloaded, or printed for FREE.

If you have questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Getting an error code F1 E1. According to manual it is an EEPROM problem. Is that the circuit board?

F1-E1 - EEPROM Checksum Error - Disconnect power for at least 30 seconds and then reconnect.
Allow at least a minute after power has been restored and if error code reappears, replace control board (clock).

Stove needs to be reset?

Hi,

Had the same problem...hold the clock button for about 3 or 4 seconds. That should fix it.

It is really SAB for Sabbath instead of 5Ab.
