Hi take off canister cover remove bag now if you look inside canister you will/should see a gauze type filter at the opposite end of canister from where bag locks in ?? remove this gauze filter and for now just shake tap on floor to remve dust/debri etc /from it this gauze is the filter that when vac is working andfilling the dust bag ? the pressure of air only that blows bag up but allows only air to pass thro the microscopic holes in bag ? then has to expel via the gauze filter to exterior ? and any dust etc that is clever enough to seep through the bag ??? will not pass further due to gauze ? and so prevents this blowing back into room ok so far ?? if this gauze is blocked due to whatever ?? then pressure build up in canister will result in cover lifting? this is provided that the fault is not the actual cover securing latch is ok and not damaged ? hope this explains and helps ? best wishes from uk !

Aerus Lux 7000: the full bag light keeps coming on but the bag is not full.

Electrolux uses a pressure differential control valve. This valve measures air before and after the bag. There is a orfice or small hole where the hose connects to the vacuum cleaner, and a orice at the back of the bag canister. As the bag fills up the suction pressure reduces at the hose connection and increases at back of the bag canister. When this happens the control valve has a diaphram that closes, which shuts the vacuum off and gives you a full bag light. There is a thin plastic flange that prevents an o ring on the control valve stem from coming off. The flange breaks, the o rings comes off the stem and the vacuum will shut down indicatiing bag full. The after market price is about 22.00. The valve is easy to replace if you are familiar on electrolux vacuums. When I replace these valves, I use epoxy two part plastic putty on the flange of the valve. It takes 2 days to cure, but the flange will not break.

My 30 year old canister vac has had both the filter and bag changed, but everytime I turn it off the bag compartment opens and ejects the bag.

I think its time for a new vacuum cleaner.....sounds like the circuitry is malfunctioning or you have an airflow problem that is tricking the vacuum into thinking the bags full. check all hoses and airways for blockage

Vac light comes on after i changed the bag

If the bag full light keeps coming on, you can first try adjusting the dial on top of the vacuum cleaner. If that does not work, then you need to change the control valve. This is an internal component of the canister and is directly below the dial. You will need to follow the instructions on a previous post to open the Electrolux plastic canister vacuum, and remove the bage cage. Once you remove the bage cage you can change the control valve, and this will solve your problem with the bag full indicator.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. In the door there are vacuum lines that could be pinched or bent and are not letting air through to the bag, the system is designed that if the bag get to full or the air flow is restricted it will pop the door open and save the motor from burn out. This is repairable and nor to expensive and to check with the local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or to call the Electrolux cust serv @ the factory for further information. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Full bag system works properly, but doesn't reset easily

Either there is something wrong with your switch. Which it doesnt sound like it. Take it to your dealer or call another one it sounds like the control valve needs to be replaced. I am a dealer 1-866-966-9350.
