SOURCE: antenna on radio broke
Radio Shack can get you an antenna, or a long wire (or wire coat hanger actually works too)
SOURCE: My Tivoli Pal radio casing has a sticky feel on
Rubberized coatings or cases when exposed to handcremes.. suntan lotions.. or bug repellents will breakdown and get become sticky.. certain environmental situations can also cause the rubber either to breakdown and either get sticky.. or get hard and brittle..
Sounds like the radio has been handled or exposed to some type of petroleum based product as I mentioned in the first line... even sitting near certain uncapped distillates can result in this problem.
There is a product in the boating world called Speed Clean Vinyl and Rubber Cleaner that may solve your problem.. if succesful.. remember to apply some type of protectant afterwards.. most Boat dealers or marine and fishermen supply stores should carry this product.
The only other solution is to remove as much of the sticky coating with an ammonia based product and recover.
Good Luck
