Question about Diesel Audio NS-7004 Car Audio Amplifier

Open Question

Sound from only 1 speaker

I just installed this amp. I have a pioneer deh-p6600 hu. I have not touched any of the settings of the amp yet as I just finished installing it. But I have the 2 rear speakers running off of it and I also bridged the 1 and 2 channels for the sub. So right now it is wired as this. Channel 3 and 4 to rear right and left, channel 1 and 2 bridged to sub. But I only have sound from 1 side of the rear speakers. When I switch the rca cables sound comes out of the other side. I have the rca cables pluged into low level 3 and 4. Is that right? I want to use this in tri mode. 2 rears and 1 1 sub/. I am going to look into it tommorro to see if I can figure out whats wrong but your help would be much appreciated. Thanks Eric. Ps I am using the rear rca outputs from my hu.

SOURCE: Diesel car amps not working

Hello Rudnette,

With out being given much information to work with I can only give you a basic run down of what the problem might be. It sounds like the MOSFET amplifiers have blown out on those channels that are not working. Did your system become ungrounded at some point while it was playing, and or did you have some kind of power surge?

Let me know the conditions under which the problem happened and I might be able to provide a better analysis.

Thank you,

SOURCE: i have a 250 watt

if you are trying to use it with the stock headunit you would need to buy a line output converter to use your amp and sub. after you buy the converter you will then need to splice into one of your rear speaker wires so you can run the rca's to the amp and continue with normal install

How do I reset my pioneer deh-x6500bt car stereo and produce sound from my rear speakers?

a 'reset' of the entire stereo should be able to be accomplished by disconnecting the battery for several minutes: alternately if you remove the faceplate there should be a reset button you would need a pen to press, however you should be able to find the EQ levels and set the balance and fade I think it is so the rear produces sound, if that is not the case, I would check wiring to make sure nothing is loose. I suppose it could only be a software/firmware problem with the stereo itself however, if you have had this happen before and it was fixed without tinkering with the wiring.

Pioneer DEH-X6500BT amp & speaker problems

Depending on the car and your setup sounds like the amplifier is not wired properly or an issue with adjustments on your deck itself. More info on your sound setup would be helpful.

Pioneer car audio amp GM 6300F (new)

Does your amplifier have a Channel swith which says 2/3/4 channel mode. If so and you are running the amplifier in Bridged mode, try changing the setting to 2 channel or Bridged mode.

Car speakers cut out (no sound) when volume turned up

I would check the crossovers.
If you are turning it up too loud, then the amp may be clipping (into distortion) and this is then setting the protection circuits off in the crossovers.

Alpine mrp-f300 cuts sound off when volume is turned up.

the problem when someone become a car audio fanatic is, we want to hear BOOMS but we are not sure how many watts the amplifier can handle, besides that theres one very important thing that most of the installers don't know. its called ohms law (not a joke) that law tells you everything about how to measure the ohms marked on the speaker labels and also the way that you connect the speakers (theres two models; serial circuit and parallel circuit)

every single movement that you make on the connections tells a different story, and if you over load the amp it will auto protect.

i suggest you to set the level at least at 60% so you don't make any damage to the internal components, and don't forget to study ohm's law because a really professional installer knows it and well, they do the matt to get the best performance.

My mtx thunder 1501d car amp making noise in the subwoofers

This is common with pioneer head units, the rca jacks are not properly grounded and this lets engine noise come through the rcs cables. This thread explains a fix

Amp went into protect, but front speakers sound distorted too

If the amp still goes into protect mode, the easiest thing to do is disconnect the RCA cables from the amp and see if still goes into protect mode (after turning off/on). If it does, the issue lies in the amp or the wiring to/from the amp (most likely case). Check to make sure no speaker wires came loose and touched +12V or ground (car body). From the sound of it, my guess is something internal to the amp died and will need repair.

No sound from the amp

With your multimeter set to DC volts and the black meter lead on the ground terminal of the amp, touch the red lead alternately to the B+ and remote terminals. If the voltage drops below ~11 volts, you need to check the wiring feeding whichever line is dropping too low.

If the voltage remains near or above 12v, disconnect all speaker wires and signal cables from the amp. If it powers up and the light stays on, the wiring needs to be checked. If it still shuts down, the amp likely has at least 1 blown output IC.
