Turn off PS3 system.. 1: Reset your modem by unplugging it from the main power source. 2: After a few minutes, plug modem power back into modem. Allow all connections to configure 3: Turn on PS3 system. 4: Go to "Settings" then scroll all the way down to "Network Settings" 5: Make sure that the "internet connection" (the second menu) is "Enabled" 6: Go to "Internet Connection Settings" and go through the motions again.
First test the Internet connection by connecting a LAN cable from your DSL or cable modem to your computer and see if you can get into the Internet.
If you can't access the Internet then phone your ISP and get them to test your connection to your modem.
If the Internet connection is OK then click on this WEB site and follow the instruction to configure the PS3 :- wii.php">http://fixhomenetwork.com/xbox-play-station-wii.php
The computer has an ethernet adapter builtin, in the control panel disable the ethernet connection Device=NVIDIA nForce 10/100 Mbps Ethernet and then make sure the drivers for the usb cable modem are installed.
OK. First of all you do not need a special or seperate driver for the Ethernet port. Its factory loaded with your OS.
All you need to do is plug the Ethernet cable into the LAN port on your HP Desktop and then into the LAN port (not the WAN port) of your cable modem.
The second thing is if its only a cable modem, then I suggest you proceed with caution as there is NO built-in firewall on a cable modem. Yes you will get on the net, but you are likely to be attacked with virus the moment you connect. I suggest you check very carefully whether the cable modem (if that's what it is) does/does not have a firewall as you would be very unwise connecting up like that.
Next, forget USB connection to the router/cable modem. That technolgy we've moved on from.. Your Vista shodul be 'plug n play' adn should configure the router for you. obviously that bit isn't so slick on yours.
The ps3 wifi is very finicky --
While the ps3 scans for a hotspot turn the router off then on so the router aquires the ps3.
Goto network settings
Goto network connection, select enable
Goto Internet connection settings just below internet connection-
Push yes when it says you may be disconnected
Select wired or wireless
For wireless use scan or enter manually
Follow on screen instructions.
Once that is set up return to main menu and go to network near the right
Then once in the internet browser press triangle and goto file and enter the internet address you would like visit.
If all else fail use the ethernet cable to attach it to your laptop. Then run network setup on the laptop and add the ps3.
are you using a USB cable to connect your modem ? Are you using a USB cable to connect your printer ? If you are using a USB cable to connect your modem, try using an ethernet cable and your LAN card instead. It will work better and you won't need modem drivers to make it work. You do however have to have a LAN card or built-in LAN adapter. As long as you have one of those 2, the best way to hook up your modem would be by using the ethernet jack on the modem straight into your LAN card/adapter. If you are not using USB to connect your modem then please send me your printer model and how it's hooked up and I will help you figure it out. Hope this helps.
