I have a problem with my Canon Optura 20: When I am outdoors or in bright light area, the LCD or the viewfinder do not display the scene at all -- they remain just plain white. If I move to indoors, the scene in indoors is visible (if it is not bright). During night, the scenes are quite visible either indoors or outdoors. I tinkered with various settings but to no avail. Did anyone face this problem and if you know the answer please let me know. Thanks in advance. Chris
The most likely cause for this is a damaged or defective flexible ribbon cable that connects the viewfinder to the camera body and will require disassembling the camera and viewfinder assembly to repair. This can be done fairly inexpensively but it's not really a user serviceable problem and should be repaired by a qualified service technician.

This can be caused by several problems including a defective eject switch in the cameras internal circuitry or a bad motor and can usually be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

I have the same problem. I found that if I removed the battery for a while (20 mins) and then put it back on, charged it fully and then tried to use it, it would work, but if I shut the camera off and turned it back on, the problem would return.
This made spontaneous video impossible.
The 3 minute warm up is a good solution, but I would really like to turn on my camera and have it be ready to go.
