Question about Whirlpool Duet GHW9150P Front Load Washer
The plastic latch of our front loading washer door broke leaving a tiny plastic piece inside where the door latches. We replaced the latch but we are having trouble getting the tiny plastic piece out of the hole. How do we get the little plastic piece out?
If the piece is jammed (locked) in the door latch assembly, there is a manual release that you can use to open the door latch to see if the piece will come from free. The following link advises:
This may require two people. One to pull on the manual release, while the other works on retrieving the broken piece from the door latch.
Another method may be to remove the door latch assembly so you can easily manipulate it outside the machine. This link explains how to remove the door latch assembly:
Now...if the piece is jammed too far inside the door latch assembly, a last resort would be to replace the latch. I hope it does not come to that, but it may be a last resort. The link provided will give you all the necessary steps to complete this repair, if required.
I hope you find this information helpful. Let me know if you require additional assistance.
