Sir,

If your TV remote has a button marked CC or CCD or SUBTITLE press that button til the screen display reads "closed caption on" or something similar - if you get a black box on the screen without any print in it that means that the closed caption function is on but the show that you are watching is not broadcasting a closed caption.

thanks
good luck

Extremely sorry wrongly posted the message.......

some of these units have a thermal fuse in line with and mounted on the
control card. This will need to be checked. Also check the door
switches. Some models will aloow power to the control card but to
    nothing else

    thanks
    goodluck

Hi,

If your dishwasher doesn't work at all, check these:

Power from the house Is there power getting to the dishwasher? This can be difficult to test, because dishwashers are usually wired directly to an electrical circuit, rather than plugged into the wall. But at least check for a blown fuse or a tripped circuit breaker.

Door switch The door switch is important because, if it's defective, the dishwasher won't work at all. To reach it, you need to remove the control panel cover, or sometimes the interior liner of the door. If it's defective, you need to completely replace it.

Wiring Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the dishwasher, burns and breaks the connection. If that's the problem, the wires must be repaired/replaced as necessary. If that's not the problem, check the wiring to the door switch, the wiring between the door and the lower part of the dishwasher, and the wiring to the timer. Repair any broken, burned, brittle, or defective wiring, using the proper appliance-grade wire and connectors.

Timer or selector switch Although it's uncommon, the timer or the selector switch may be defective. If so, you need to replace the defective part, because neither of these can be repaired.

When we close the dishwasher door the main circuit board trips

Probably a short in the door interlock, get a replacement interlock, remove plug, remove outer door panel (beware, sharp edges) replace interlock, outer door panel and test, should be ok.

My Maytag QuietSeries 400 dishwasher won't start. Sometimes 88 flashes on the display and that's all. What does that mean? Model # MDB7601AWB

Dishwasher will not start Is the door open or unlatched?
Make sure the door is completely closed and latched. On models with a dual-digit display, the control displays "- -" during a cycle if it believes the door is not latched. Check for obstructions (spoons, etc), interfering with the door operation. A lower dish rack that is installed backward will also cause incomplete door closure.

Check your household electrical box to see if a fuse has blown or if the circuit breaker has tripped. If the unit has a plug-in power cord, make sure it is plugged in.

Does your dishwasher have a rotary timer knob? (Some Models)
The cycle selection must match the position of the timer knob. Turn the timer knob to the beginning of the preferred cycle. The timer knob should click when you reach the start of the cycle.

Is the control lock option activated?
Press and hold the Heated Dry option (button with lock icon) for three to five seconds and the light should turn off. Instructions are also placed on the label on top of the inner door to unlock the controls.

Is the delay start option activated?
To cancel the delay and cycle, press Cancel/Drain.

Has the motor stopped for less than 10 minutes?
The motor may have stopped due to an overload. If this is the case, the motor will automatically reset itself within 5-10 minutes.

Is the Start/Resume indicator flashing?
Opening the door or interrupting the power can stop the cycle. Close the door and press Start/Resume. If the Start/Resume indicator flashes three times when you press Start/Resume, the dishwasher is waiting for you to open the door after the last cycle. Open and close the door, and then press Start/Resume.
On models where the controls are on top of the door be sure to close the door within 3 seconds of pressing the Start/Resume to start or resume the dishwasher cycle.

Is the water shutoff valve (if installed) turned on?
Make sure that the water shutoff valve is turned on.

My dishwasher started smoking from the tub area and got very hot. Now it worn't come on and there is a burnt odor coming from the tub.

Remove the phillips head screws surounding the inside of the door and seperate the door. Your model used a black mastic sound / heat insulation, which has most likely gotten soft and allowed the wires to become imbedded in it. The outer insulation on the wires can then start to disolve and short out, resulting in your burning smell, or in the very least error codes showing up on the display. LG would tell you to replace the inner door liner and the wiring harness, which is fine if you have a service contract on it (because the parts are not cheap, and the labor to change them is a pain), but it you don't have a service contract, you can replace the bad wires by splicing them to bypass the bad area(s). Then, use a felt type insulation between the new wires and the old mastic to prevent the same thing from happening again. Newer model dishwashers no longer use the mastic insulation, opting for a felt insulating blaket instead. Note: Other brands of dishwashers have had similar issues.

How do I remove inner door skin to get at latch of Bosch Dishwasher SMS 2012

you dont remove inner door skin you remove outer, screws along both edges will allow outer door panel removal and the rest around the console will allow that to be detached showing the door latch in all its glory.

providing its not under guarantee remove mains plug and remove door skin from front of door carefully, as it has to go back on, look for any broken wires just above the door hinge, there will be about 10 or 15 wires, its possible that if you have checked what you said have checked properly that one of these wires has got hot and broken (very common fault of all dishwashers aver 3 year old) replace wire with care etc, work safely,

when i attend dishwashers that have lost power to some part or short out at any point, i always check for broken wires inside the door skin, the wire harness inside the door skin gets hot and cracks with use when opening the door all the time, alternatively there could be a short on any of the working parts, unplug each part one by one and switch back on to test, when you have unplugged the faulty part the switch will not trip, replace as needed work with safety keep fingers out and unplug from power supply when disconnecting parts for testing hope i have helped if so please rate me
