When at school, my wifi works fine. However, when I go home, the wifi on my computer goes to limited or no connectivity. This did not happen when I had Cox, but my parents switched to Centurylink (Qwest).
Do the other machines on the network connect to the internet?
If so, you know its a problem with your wifi settings. Try opening a command window: start>all programs>accessories>command prompt. In this window type: ipconfig /release and press return. Then type: ipconfig /renew and return. This will assign a new ip address to your machine. If it is a problem with the network you will need to reset the modem/router and reconfigure it with your ISP details.

After connecting with Verizon Fios, my NETGEAR WG511T couldn't work as before. Even I clicked on "Repair", but Windows XP couldn't find my IP. Anyway, my problem was solved after re-installing NETGEAR. This time I didn't choose NETGEAR Smart Wizard (recommended) but Windows (second option). It works this way. However, when you turn on your laptop, the dialog window will ask you to choose Smart Wizard or not. If I choose Smart Wizard, my mightmare will come back right away. Hope my solution works on yours.
