Question about GE DBSR453EBWW Electric Dryer
My dryer is a ge dpsr483ea1ww and its making a horrible grinding noise when it is on. Is it the belt orsomething else.
Belt would squeak. but a horrible noise would probably be coming from the gear box. it may need a simple lubrication to the worst of replacing the whole gear box.
check it underneath the tub. if you can remove the housing and run it while it is open and see or hear where the noise is coming from. be careful on the moving parts once it is running with out a housing.

It appears drcool299 didn't notice that you are talking about a dryer, not a washer. Belt problem, not likely. Disconnect power. Open top by using a putty knife to push in the seam between the top and the dryer front, about 2 inches in from each side and lift top up and off. Remove two screws holding front onto sides of dryer, near the top. Tilt dryer front forward and lift dryer front off the bottom pegs and swing dryer front to the side. (you don't have to remove the switch wires if you don't want to) Check the teflon drum slides at the top of the dryer front which supports the front of the drum. They may be worn out and the drum may be wearing into the drum support. There may be sand or an object caught in by the felt seal. If all that is OK, you can unhook the belt and pull the drum right out the front to check the back drum bearing or make sure that an element is not scraping on the back of the drum.

Tips for a great answer:
Hello friend, thank you for your post!
I see that you have changed multiple parts within your Frigidaire dryer due to a grinding noise. Since you have changed the bearing cup, felt, pulley, and belt I would recommend having a technician come out to diagnose your appliance to avoid any further unnecessary part purchases. You could be seeing an issue within the drum or motor. I hope this information is helpful. -Matt
