Question about Dell Inspiron 6000 Notebook
Often this happens because the AC soket in the laptop has a broken contact.
In this case the tehnician access the motherboard and resolder the on board contacts.
This is not a job for beginner, requires taking apart teh laptop completely, taking out the motherboard, and doing a precision soldering on the motherboard.
Ask a quote for the repair at a local repair shop, or call Dell and ask the cost of a Warranty extension that will cover factory repair, usually is cheaper than the repair job.

Tips for a great answer:
According to your problem, this may occurs for either the
battery of your laptop or the charger is faulty. First check electric outlet where
you have plugged your laptop charger is OK. Then check the power cord. If
everything OK then you have to change the battery.
